Years ago I thought Denzel Washington would make a good Bond if they could leave out political correctness and just have Bond be Bond.

Big business putting PC before profit.

The question is, will a James Bond movie bring in more money with a black actor, yes or no?

I guess like Obamacare they will have to do it to find out if it works.

The Bond portrayed by Sean Connery is different from the Bond portrayed by Roger Moore which is all together different from the Daniel Craig version. They can’t all be “true” to the books, so I don’t think it’s a big deal if Bond is black.

That’s one way to kill a franchise.

No. I’m not about that at all. I’m talking about a real man. You might need to upgrade. Some of us aren’t like that.

While I like Craig a lot as Bond, it has been obvious for some time he wants out. Elba isn’t a bad choice at all. I’d give it a try. It still has legs if the scripts are good enough. I was ready to write it off after Quantum of Solace, but thought they recovered well with Skyfall and Spectre.

I saw where Craig was offered $150 million to play Bond. Don’t know details.

Aw geez.

Truth is, I’ve appreciated your posts since I first found the site.

Now you turn a fun discussion into a sour personal jibe.

Simon Cowell would make a good bond. The attitude; the accent,,,,,,I doubt he can act.

That’s okay, I knew what you meant...just playin’ with ya.

And I’ve never seen a Timothy Dalton Bond movie, or Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig for that matter.

I’m one of those stuffy purist who thinks only Sean Connery can play James Bond. I saw the first Bond film Dr No when it hit the big screen in 1962 and watched every one until Diamond Are Forever which was the last one with Sean Connery.

I did catch the remake of Thunderball in 1985 though, the one titled Never Say Never.

Jon Pertwee, the third doctor in the Doctor Who series, was the real life role model for James Bond.

Sure ... it worked so well with the black Johnny Flash in the Fantastic 4 and a black Jack Bauer in 24. Shoving political correctness down peoples throats doesn’t sell.

Great, we get to be lectured about racism in a Bond flick. Ain’t affirmative action wonderful?
