Good job with the tractor pull. I hope you can post some pics of the bales when they get growing. It sounds very interesting.

We love tomatoes too. Last year was utter failure for most of hubby’s tomatoes. He used old jiffy mix against my advice, and they were just stunted and did diddly squat.

So I went to Walmart and got two tomato plants and put them into buckets and they did pretty good. Also had some volunteers come up in the middle of some lilies, that were kinda like grape shaped, and had a good flavor, so I saved some of those seeds.

Does California allow you to save rain water and use it? I know some states don’t - which seems weird to me.

I need to get out and harvest some Spinach. Too much to eat right now, so I’ll have to freeze some of it.

I have tons of these white finger taters that have huge sprouts on them and have only managed to get about a quarter of em in the ground... been rainin here like crazy, we are already 12 inches above normal rainfall.

Plus some clown of a tree surgeon comes out to the backyard of the lady nextdoor and cuts down like 12 maples. No problem except HE LEFT THEM! So I volunteered to the lady and the other guy next door to cut it up and haul it off, so ain’t had the time to garden yet...

I have separate tomato strains for fresh eating, drying, spaghetti sauce and fending off my tomato-addicted childbeast. :) I just transplanted two peach tomato seedlings and am watching them like a hawk - they’re not productive, but they taste SO incredibly good.

We do have water towers, but not many. Individuals can save water but it’s a risk with the mosquitos.
