The founders new that the Bible was required along with the Constitution and DI to keep the Republic.
Once we started to turn from God’s word, that was the beginning of serious problems in America.
Those two documents could not stand without God’s life changing Word, and it’s transforming power in people’s lives.
They knew this, as even I know this today.
They pray together in the White House daily. Including DJT and staff.

I am tired of the syrupy evangelical obsession with “is he a Christian?” GW Bush was a “Christian” and was the most awful presidents we have had until O came along. He blundered us into an eternal set of wars and mideast meddling, drove a carriage and four through every smidgen of constitutional protection of privacy we had left, set up the housing crisis (started with Bill Clinton’s policies, I know), “abandoned the free market to save it” (?????????), destroyed habeas corpus in the name of “fighting terror”......, but he was a “Christian.”
Tell ya what.How about we ignore all the breathless pantings over the conversion testimonies-which often turn out to be like that of Larry Flynt or Bob Dylan. How about we evaluate someone’s time in office by whether they obey the 9th commandment, which forbids (among other things) lying about your oath of office where you promise to uphold the Constitution of the USA? How about we as evangelicals GET TO KNOW THE DOCUMENT and quit the stupid stupid stupid insistence that the mark of a “CHRISTIAN” president is whether he supports stuff like DOMA (which has no constitutional authority at all) and stop the hectoring which has come from religious conservatives that the president should be some kind of pastor-in- chief.
There simply is no way to know Donald J Trump’s spiritual condition. Aside from the fact that only God knows for sure, and we have all seen shocking defections from the faith from people who we would have sworn were people of faith, there is so much posturing, acting, spinning, and out right lies from both fans and haters that we simply can’t do anything but pray.
I do find it interesting that I find NOWHERE IN THE BIBLE a command to pray that leaders (kings and those in authority) will be converted, or lead in a godly manner. Zero. None. The command is that there should be prayers for freedom to spread the gospel. That is it. Government as an entity is not redeemable, not tranformable, not fixable, and cannot be an agent of good if we just get the right people in there. It will always be a “beast” drunk with the blood of the saints and hostile to God. The fiction that it can be otherwise is one of the most awful wastes of time, energy and resources ever expended by the people of God in a culture. I am appalled at where the religious right has wound up in 40 years.
So, while I hope Trump is converted, that is almost irrelevant to my prayers for America. Don’t even get me started about the nonsense about “Israel” either.
If true, I bet a lot of it had to do with Mike Pence. He really seems to trust Pence almost like a younger brother. And Pence is as straight laced as they come.

What does that put him up to, about 11 states he can win? Will he break 125 electoral votes? Can he outperform the Michael Dukakis 1988 effort? It will be close.
