“Shemar Cooper, the little black boy who started the ruckus.”
He did not start a ruckus, he should have been left alone to either recite or not recipe the Pledge.
The state of Ill. is in a state of being ill (as in sick). It was listed as one of the top states that people are leaving. . .make that fleeing.
And you seriously think that is appropriate behavior for a teacher?
At my kid’s high school, there are teachers who reprimand students who DO stand during the pledge.
Yes. I’m one of them.
I remember when I was a kid in grade school in the early 1960s in Phoenix,AZ. Our school was layed out like a old strip mall. Every class came outside in the morning and recited the Pledge of Allegiance to one large flag on a tall flagpole. We then sang “America the Beautiful” and then sang the Arizona State Song. Didn’t hurt me one bit. Each class also had its own vegetable garden outside the door too, that we learned to plant and tend to.
Our home grown terrorists.

You would faint on the spot if I had mentioned his paddlin’ board. Since I wasn’t a school troublemaker I never saw it in action, so I didn’t win that particular stupid prize for doing stupid things.
His momma was torn between Shamu and Shamwow.
Sorry, but giving your kid a made-up ghetto name is like tatooing it on his forehead for the rest of his life. What a disservice to any ambitions the kid might have. It just makes it more difficult for the kid to achieve them.
I got it...once, and one time was all it took to know I never wanted to feel Round 2. (see my post#33).
