'Game of Thorns' book goes inside Trump, Clinton campaigns.

Historian and author Doug Wead stated in his new book that "The secret service agent present for hours at the hotel, confirmed that there was smashing of glass and long periods of heated shouting." "Hillary "was angry."

"Ed Rendell was on public TV saying I just left Hillary and she was very angry."

Per Doug Wead, "Hillary freaked out."

"The numbers from North Carolina were what really disturbed her."

Either she was physically unable to do any more than that, or she felt it wasn't necessary because she had the election in the bag. Perhaps both.

Hubris. She believed her own press. I stated, several times, to my hubby that I had never seen a presidential candidate campaign so rarely.

I believe, and still do, that she was physically (health-wise) unfit for the job. Not to mention the rampant corruption. I think Trump went to Minn to campaign in the last days, and part of his speech mentioned that Hillary! had not even bothered showing up in the state. She was convinced that those blue states were going to go for her no matter what. Why waste her time campaigning there. I think people like to have a politician ask for their vote.

Trump convinced the electorate that he would be working for the American people; Hillary couldn't even be bothered to show up for a rally.

I really don’t know if fireworks trigger Hillary’s kind of fits. It’s just something I read. I did notice at the DNC, during the balloon drop, that Hillary seemed a little...odd. She was pointing, and her mouth and eyes were wide open. Seemed like a highly exaggerated reaction at best.

“Trump had this won before it even started...”

Yup...agree with your whole post...I was saying during the primaries that we needed Trump to win Florida. Florida was IT and even more so because it was a settled matter that Trump would take Ohio and Iowa...that’s 24 EV’s he had over Clinton to start the night....add FL’s 29 and you have a 53 EV swing.

She really never had a chance!

I’m pretty sure that’s the episode with Lord Garth, where he changes into Kirk’s form but realizes he can’t fool the Enterprise crew into beaming him up. “Whom Gods Destroy”, episode #69. You can’t watch them for free on the internet anymore, though.

Wow! Very good!

Did you re member it, or did you just type in Kirk Tantrum on Google?

Incredible Google! As good as "LIBRARY COMPUTER" on the Enterprise!

I never saw that one, so I never saw Kirk's tantrum.

And do you know why I never saw it?

Because the "green lady" (played by starlet Yvonne Craig) creeped me out so much (at the age of 11) I turned it off! I remembered it when I went to this page.

The reason I thought it was from a blooper reel was because they allowed a clear view of the "transporter room" control panel, which (I thought) they never allowed to happen, just as they never allowed a clear view of the controls of a Tricorder to be visible.

"(NC) Governors race was a different beast than the national race ..."

Clearly that was the case with 20/20 hindsight. But, living here in the "great North State", many Dems locally were smug, and expecting a Hillary win, AND a Cooper win.

I think this was borne out of 2 things: (1) they live in an echo chamber of their own making, so didn't believe the Trump movement was as large as it was; and (2) they also BELIEVED they had created or motivated enough ADDITIONAL Hillary/Cooper voters through the voter-ID issue; the HB2 issue; and the BLM movement (on top of the normal/expected absentee voter fraud).

I don't believe that any polls picked up on the true Trump surge and, even if they had Trump ahead on election day, they expected it to be much tighter than the actual vote turned out to be.

As to why Hillary went nuts when she learned she'd lost NC, I think that is a result of staff "survivor bias". That is, she only kept staff around that told her what she wanted to hear. Therefore, the long-term, loyal staff that took her to election day likely DID know she wasn't likely to win in NC, but they weren't going to tell her that. So, to her, it was totally unexpected. She had long-term staff, and at times honest staff. She didn't have any long-term honest staff.

Dem operatives were on record as saying they viewed getting McCrory as far more important than the Presidential election. Had the eleventh hour Durham County BS led to not just a Cooper victory but a Clinton victory as well, it would have drawn too much scrutiny. They were after McCrory and threw Hillary under the bus to get it.

Dems were smug all over... modern “liberals” are always smug, they think they know better than everyone else everything.... If only the world was as wonderful as they are everything would be great... that’s not a modern thing, that goes back at least to the 60s.

They Absolutely were living in echo chambers, and bought into their own press... not only in NC, but nationally.

This is the problem, the POLLS were flagrantly off, and blindingly so, because of a multitude of reasons.... 1) the voters Trump was bringing were people who were filtered out by the “likely” voter filter... If you didn’t vote in the last 2 elections, it doesn’t matter how much you tell a pollster you are going to vote, they are going to mark you unlikely... so huge swaths of disaffected and disengaged voters who Trump was re-engaging were not being captured in the polling... 2) The polls were by and large push polling/gas lighting, they weren’t honest polling. Pollsters were oversampling groups to prop up hillary, and they were doing it across the board... it was psy ops 101. Show Hillary up big everywhere to deject Trump supporters... Every and I do mean EVERY poll that showed Hillary up BIG nationally, or doing better than Obama locally were flat out LIES... ever single one of them... if you looked at the internals (when they published them) you could see the flagrant manipulation.

The fundamental Truth was simply this... Hillary was going to nationally underperform Obama, and she had ZERO chance of taking any state Obama lost in 12... this was reality out of the gate... She also had ZERO shot at OH or IA... the play that these were ever in play for her were laughable from the get go.

Now as to NC... Obama lost NC by 80k votes in 12, Hillary had ZERO SHOT at it... secondly, the early voting numbers which were published (by party breakdown) and available long before Tuesday confirmed Hillary had absolutely ZERO chance at NC.

So, the only way Hillary could be sitting there election night thinking she had a prayer at NC was either she was being lied to, or she thought she had some sort of fix to throw it her way... the facts on the ground... 2 completely different set of indicators, 1 broad and available from the start... and the other exact and precise right before election day showed that she had no shot.

TO her credit, NC is one of the places where she actually did outperform Obama... but it wasn’t nearly enough to have won the state, she wouldn’t even have beat Romney with her extra 20k votes over Obama 12..

NC was NEVER, EVER in play by any honest evaluation.... Not once.

Virginia was almost certainly going to go hers too many people’s pocketbooks in NOVA were tied to keeping the Obama beast going...

Had the election just been a day or 2 later she would have lost MN outright.... Trump was steamrolling... the Access Hollywood tape is the only thing that kept Trump from 350 plus IMHO...

Election Reform needs to be high on the 100-day list! There is absolutely no reason why a photo ID shouldn’t be a requirement to cast a vote...you can’t buy cigarettes or liquor or board a plane without one. Passing a 9th grade Civics test would be a good requirement for voter registration as well. Too many voters haven’t a clue as to how our government works.

:-) Little of both. I vaguely remembered the scene, but not the name of the episode, so I typed in Kirk Tantrum on Bing.

The transporter room panel shown was on the planet. Garth had morphed into Kirk, and was angry that Kirk and Spock had put in a security measure to prevent anyone from getting away with pretending to be him. (Spock gave a chess move, and Kirk’s answer was to be the responding chess move.)

“Her aides could not allow her to come out in public,” he writes.

What a loss to the Internet world. That would have been the most downloaded speech in history.

Thanks guys,
I’m not a Trekkie but it was a great series that I grew up with.
I recently got a complete collection of the series that had been completely Remastered and with so much Added material
that it truly is the best 50 bucks I have invested in video.
The Menagerie is still the Best!
So I’ll find it!
Thanks again!

The Menagerie was considered “too cerebral” for viewers, so they had to dumb it down to get the series launched. Too bad.
