This academy award ceremony will be the pinnacle of the anti Trump hysteria and posturing. Reminds me of what Orwell described in his novel “1984”. The state staged organized rituals known as “two minutes of hate” to motivate and control the population. Imagine the Democratic poodle Colbert exciting and priming the pliable bejeweled and elegantly dressed vapid attendees with vicious anti Trump hateful dialogue. Then they project a large picture of Trump on a huge screen. The crowd goes frantic, screaming and throws objects ( but not their jewels), at the screen. After two minutes the image comes down and the crowd sits.

Can’t boycott something I never cared or watched to begin with.

Hidden Figures is the story of three remarkable women....Katherine G. Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson. They were part of the computer pool in the early days of NASA, responsible for the mathematical calculations necessary for early space flight.

One of them went on to be an engineer, but needed to take a night course at a segregated school to qualify. She got the permission, by asking.

There's some over-dramatization about walking long distances to get to a Ladies Room that wasn't "whites only" and being stopped by the police. But except for that, it was the story of three very bright ladies who didn't need affirmative action or lower standards to get a job.

I suspect that's what bothers the elite. The idea that black women could get ahead in a highly competitive and challenging environment without having to be granted favors by the powers that be shatters every prejudice the agenda of the elite is based on. It's very empowering for young black women who aren't told often enough that they don't need special exceptions in order to succeed. The movie tells us that things were getting better a long time ago, until big gov and political correctness got involved.

They still have Academy Awards in this country?

I had thought the motion picture industry had moved, lox, stocks and rainbarrel, to Canada, YEARS ago.

Toronto is nice this time of year....

And parking is probably better.

yes, but it is hard to boycott a politicized bs and BORING ceremony of self-congratulatory egomaniacs

when we turned it off YEARS ago, already!

I don’t think they care much.
It’s for them, by them and of them.

Me, I hope the red carpet gets over-run with Colobus monkeys that grab their haute-coture pussies.

I wish I had a better internet connection to install Kodi. As it is I can stream two devices at the most at any time.

I “boycott” every year.
I’m not sure the hollywood fans that generally waste their time gushing over these narcissists are smart enough to boycott.

Will do with pleasure!

These people hate our country and want to see it’s downfall.

Hence, why their fear, self-loathing and sexually confused people like Jodie Foster worries about 1/10,000 of a single percent of the entire population. To this medicated parrot this is her number 1 issue.

What’s funny though is that when you reach out to this tiny segment of society and ask how they feel about this issue. Almost all of them do not feel discriminated. This is a made up issue in other words. It’s a fake issue, but that does not stop old Hollywood actors from playing the political card.

I would not be surprised if the old hag Jodie was not trying to land a roll in an upcoming movie.

Jodie Foster supports and enables a pedophile industry. Make a speech about that, you perverted hag.

I think the last time I watched Annie Hall won. I never saw the movie either. I’ve never seen Star Wars either.

I can't recall the exact year I stopped watching their self-centered spectacle but Steve Martin was the emcee.

That fat, ugly pig, Michael Moore won an award for his stupid film "Bowling for Columbine" and went on to make an ugly inflammatory speech against GWB being an illegitimate president etc." (Sound familiar?)

I remember turning off the awards only to come back at the end to see the "best picture" award, (Chicago) and sure enough, when the Neilsen's came out, that Academy Award's show was the lowest rated.

I WILL NOT WATCH THE CHANNEL AT ALL TOMORROW!

TOTAL BLACK OUT!

I won't be watching but I refuse to boycott. Here are some of the sold out sponsors of the ABC telecast this year whom I also refuse to boycott even though I hardly use any of their products.

Academy Awards broadcaster ABC has sold out of advertising slots during the ceremony, it confirmed to CNBC.com via email. Ad spots are said to cost as much as $2.5 million per 30-second spot, and brands including Adidas, Stella Artois, AT&T, GM, Hyatt, McDonald's, Samsung, Verizon and Walmart are set to advertise during the ceremony.

I’m an American. I have nothing in common with any of those jackasses. Their “American values” are completely the opposite of my American values. I love America. I do not hate America.

I don’t pay for cable, and don’t watch TV shows or newfangled movies.
I do have TVs outfitted with DVD and VCR players.
Local library has lots of classic OLD movies obtainable with a library card.
Thrift shops, yard sales...there are 1000s of OLD movies that are actually worth seeing available.

Who needs to look at today’s no-talent blowhards, in movies that are pure trash? I’ll take Jimmy Stewart over Johnny Depp any day.

Good question — everyone, what is the last movie you paid to go see in a theater???

I saw the Star Wars movie in Dec. 2015. Before that, I saw “War Room”, “Courageous”, and the Dinesh D’Souza movie. I think that’s it for me so far in the 21st century. I basically just don’t go to movies anymore.

For the most part, Hollyweird doesn’t even produce good movies anymore, or produce interesting personalities. The actors, actresses, directors, etc. are all so boring now. The industry is overrun with hacks, yet there they are every year, giving each other awards for excellence. The background folks (composers, art directors, etc.) may still deserve awards for great work. In any event, I haven’t watched the Oscar show since the 1980s or whenever Billy Crystal was hosting.
