I love FR, Jim, and all of you guys.
I am a faithful monthly contributor
But FR is so incredibly slow to load.
Is it my IP or is it my alternative reality?
I have a very fast internet service but FR is the slowest site to download.
Perhaps I am not logged in...
Refreshing works for me.
But I sure have to do it a lot.
I just wanted Jim to know.
It is in recent months slow and more often than not, it loads partially and requires refresh. Personally I suspect that are server configuration issues. I have encountered the same with my company servers and it is something that needs ongoing tweaking to keep fine tuned. I have gotten used to clicking refresh on FR and just deal with it. My bigger concern is the apparent lack of rollover backup or disaster recovery that sometimes leave it down for days while someone drives to the server facility. That is very, very odd.
FR is a good home for you and me.
The site is not the problem, no graphics, no pop up ads, etc. The people who claim it crashes sometimes...yeah, like when it’s election night and 40 million people all want in at the same time.

I am a hermit. FR is my connection to the world.
But I could still enjoy a girl friend.

my fr loads just fine. do you have both your Internet connection and your wifi connection active at the same time for your device? Sometimes these compete with each other and can slow down the process.
I don’t have this problem. Perhaps clean cache.
FR has been consistently sluggish since the primaries. It did manage to stay up during election night, but crashed during the inauguration.
When this has happened in earlier times, it turned out to be either a software problem or hardware/hard drive/server.
Many times, it gets so sluggish that it isn’t worth trying to keep up with live events.
FR used to put up 300 or more posts a day in the early millennium. Now we might get 100. How could traffic be slowing it down?
Sometimes it does a partial load for me but I just hit the refresh button and it comes right up. Otherwise no problems here.
No, the site loads fine for me and is as quick as any website. Heck, it will load most of the time faster than weather.com or some other major websites.

Well, then! I hate long walks on the beaches (lake girl), grow my own damned flowers, beat up men for the fun of it, cook like Martha minus the mess, point pistols at people who may or may or not deserve it, drive a 4X Ford, garden like it was the end of the world, give large-mouth bass a reason to deport to the next lake over, like my beef ribs just a touch rare on the inside, and will send goons over if you even FRmail me.
But we could be friends.
I *used* to take breaks while shopping and check in on y’all but it’s become unbearable to do so, now.
On a whomping bad ass gamer laptop, it’s mind numbingly slow.
I cannot imagine how people who only ever access FR on smart phones maintain their sanity.
Yep. FR is much slower to load than it used to be. That is despite the fact that FR traffic seems to be down.
It’s the slowest site I use. I finding myself shutting off scripting and images on FR.
That is just too cool.
