White House press secretary Sean Spicer forcefully denied on Friday that the Trump administration is considering a proposal to mobilize as many as 100,000 National Guard troops to round up illegal immigrants, including millions living nowhere near the Mexico border.
'That is 100 per cent not true. It is false. It is irresponsible to be saying this,' Spicer told reporters aboard the Marine One helicopter.
'There is no effort at all to round up, to utilize the National Guard to round up illegal immigrants.'

It sounds like a contingency plan to me - the kind that pencil pushers in the WH write up because they need something to do. They used to leak these to the press in the Reagan administration.

You can’t mobilize national guard for this on an ongoing basis. These are people with regular jobs they need to keep.
Now, using the regular military to seal the border against foreign invasion would seem a legitimate use of our military, and not violate the Posse Comitatus Act.
Actually, I have no problem at all if all of the illegals in this country ended up in Hawaii, Puerto Rico or USVI, Guam or wherever...... Those places can be their ‘sanctuaries.’

Can we at least use those National guard troops to patrol the border? With 100,000 of them and a 2,000 mile border with Mexico, that is 50 per mile, or one every 100 feet (one every 400 feet if you allow for reasonable work days). They can call in the Border Patrol or make a “citizen’s arrest” in their role as ordinary, patriotic Americans. Shut down illegal crossings until the wall is built.

There you go. Tell one agency or group it’s 75,000, another that it’s 100,000 - another groupp 125,000 etc. At least it would narrow the focus.
Should Trump clog up the system with the small fish before the hundreds of thousands of criminals and gang-members are deported? Then next, shouldn't he deport the millions of welfare cheats and illegal voters?
While doing this, the Feds can put the squeeze on employers hiring illegals and local governments giving them welfare benefits - not to mention stopping the Feds own IRS from giving them hundreds of millions in Earned Income Credits and other IRS payments. This will cause the massive self-deportations needed to bring down the total illegal alien population to a level easier to deal with than it is today.
And of course, they'll be that great big beautiful wall cutting off reinforcements.
First the publish a fake rumor that will upset people — voila, fake news. Then they express feigned and capitalized “surprise” when they get some administration functionary to DENY their own fake news.
