This is the technical name for a caveman, or one who lives in a cave. The term also covers anyone living in seclusion or in a primitive state, like a hermit.

Trogle is Greek for "hole" and dyein, is Greek for "get into." The ancient Greeks gave the name "troglodytes" to uncivilized races who dwelt in holes in the ground or caves.

2 words struck me about you post. First, the "mom's basement" crowd are certainly troglodytes. Second your use of the word "flurry" to describe these denizens could also be "furry" in light of their recent escapades.
