I’ll try to find it later, but a freeper had a relative that he had written a long article on. Just wanted to be left alone but when the Brits attacked his little town in the mountains he formed a dragoon(?) of cavalry and would run raids on them all over the place - independent of the organized war effort.

Then he relented and he and his guys joined the Continental Army to fight against that Brit that was portrayed in “The Patriot” movie. Pretty interesting story. I thought I had it bookmarked - I’ll have to try to find that again.

I like our chances. Abundant fertile crop lands. Masses of fresh water. Marcellus Shale deposits. Waterways from the Atlantic to the Great Lakes. Numerous Nuclear facilities. Air Force bases. 10th Mountain. Of course you are right the leftists would have to be dealt with early on. ;-)

I think this scenario is fundamentally flawed as it assumes a CW2 would be a war between the states. I think that is wrong. People do not identify themselves by state like they used to but by demographic group thanks to politicians pandering and marketers marketing. The next civil war, if heaven forbid we have one, will break down on urban versus rural lines and would be a true civil war where both sides are fighting over the same land as they live in. Austin, DFW and Houston would just as soon align themselves with LA and San Fran as NY, Boston, Phili and Wash DC would. Eastern Cali would align itself with rural Texas and upstate New York and western Pennsylvania would probably realize they have more in common with rural and small town folk in the south, Texas and the Midwest than they do with the big east coast cities.

A civil war would be about controlling lines of supply through the country until the other side buckled and gave way. Nukes would be self defeating to either side. We also could not expect a war inside the US to be isolated. More likely it would probably be part of a larger worldwide conflagration if for no other reason than the other world powers like Russia and China scrambling to fill the space vacated by US influence. Lots of old grudges will come to the surface and probably go nuclear like India-Pakistan and the Arab middle east versus Israel. And they would want to influence who wins in the US.

Its understandable considering they reversed the course of the Chicago river so that they could ship their sewage and slaughter house run off down the Illinois river and make it a downstate problem!

Rednecks have no borders. God love them. i have met them from the west coast, north east, Midwest .... feel sorry for some who are surrounded by liberals, marooned in the urban deserts of culture. Like an islands in the ocean but rednecks are everywhere. We will win. ;)
