Hey, ‘SNL': Rosie O’Donnell Poses as Steve Bannon in Bid for New Gig

Yeah, we’re thinking Rosie O’Donnell is definitely gunning for that “Saturday Night Live” guest gig. And she might deserve it too, after updating her official Twitter profile picture Thursday night with a scary-accurate Photoshopped image of her as White House Advisor Steve Bannon.

Earlier this week it emerged via Politico that beleaguered White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer drew boss Donald Trump’s severe displeasure thanks to a Melissa McCarthy’s brutal, and highly celebrated portrayal of him on “SNL.” Trump’s problem? Not that she made him look like a petulant buffoon, but that she was “she.”

Apparently, Spicer’s job is on shaky ground because Trump thinks being played by a woman made him “look weak.”

To quote one of the greatest SNL alumni, “That’s a man, baby!”

She doesn't have the intelligence to portray Steve Bannon.

Nor the morals.

IMO ..... fake news.

.... of every press sec'y I've ever listened to/watched ... Spicer has a mature voice and attitude and just comes off as being in control.

This is a great segway to say I LIKE the way the camera goes to the press for the question.

It goes along with Trump's basic attitude about "informing the people"

I believe that is an order in part because we never saw the crowds that HE saw because of whatever rule the media had about showing us.

On occasions I have watched British variety shows. They often had impressionist on. The audience thought they were funny. I had no idea who they were or what was funny.

Trying to make fun of a white house staffer in front of an audience who think the Civil War began when Germans bombed Pearl Harbor may not be as funny at they think.

It is good that the left is giving 110% in their hate for the President and the 50+% who voted for him. It will then be a contest between who gets tired first, the left or the American people.

The one thing these attention whores want is...well, attention. Best way to make them go away is to ignore them. It’s been downhill for SNL since 1975; not worth watching.

Trump, and his staff, needs to ignore SNL and let continue to die.

By responding to their every satire, he’s giving them a relevance they do not deserve.

Mr. President...pick your battles, don’t get into the gutter with the left.

If they ever have a part for Moby Dick, she ought to fit right in.

You got it. The laughs come from elements of truth and that requires recognition. I have no memory of hearing Bannon speak. We hear Spicer all of the time. Melissa McCarthy picks up parts of the rhythm and content of a Spicer briefing. What could Rosie and the writers do with Bannon other than make stuff up that nobody understands?

Has anyone actually seen O’Donnell and Bannon at the same time? Based on the pictures I’ve seen, I think she actually IS Bannon.

It’s not been quite that long. The show was funny in the era of Eddie Murphy and Joe Piscopo, and again during the tenure of Billy Crystal and Martin Short. With Jon Lovitz, Dennis Miller, and Phil Hartman the show still brought laughs. Later with Mike Meyers, Chris Farley, and Adam Sandler it was still good. From the days of Will Ferrell to the departure of Bill Hader there was still some comedy to be found.

The show has been simply dreadful for about three years now.

I stopped watching this show decades ago shortly after I quit drinking and smoking pot. Watching humans purposely trying to be funny is wasting my sober hours.

Yeah, I gotta think the stoners who watch SNL won't know who a.) who Rosie is supposed to be impersonating, or b.) that Rosie is ostensibly female. Sorta.

Did SNL ever assemble a regular cast of impersonators for Obama's advisers?
