Should Trump Dump Gorsuch? Absolutely...No Matter the Cost...But, What Say You?

Posted on 02/08/2017 8:36:49 PM PST by Be Careful

Gorsuch had the temerity to criticize the person who has nominated him to a life-time SCOTUS position......with his comments that criticized Trump's style, I think that Gorsuch has disqualified himself to fulfill the position for which Trump has nominated him.......Gorsuch has outed himself as a fellow "Spineless John Roberts"

what is "disheartening" is the 9th Circuit Judiciary usurping the executive Branch and We the people for political purposes.

Dump him and dump him so hard it leaves no question as to why.

That said, Trump knew this would get snagged in the 9th Circuit, and as a result, he exposed them yesterday by reading HIS Presidential powers in the manner he did.....delegitimizing them thoroughly and with extreme prejudice.

This guy is 5 moves ahead of everyone....

Im still not sick of winning

Stupid premise.

If Trump surrounded himself with “yes man” he would never have become as successful as he is.

In what venue did he say it? I have not seen or heard that ANYWHERE. My initial statement still stands.

"But I am puzzled why Gorsuch would go to such a leftist as Blumenthal and talk at all, unless it was strategy to get Democrat votes."

Gorsuch has to meet with members of the Senate. He had to meet with Feinstein the other day. But, maybe he was hiding his true feelings if he said President Trump's comments were demoralizing and disheartening. Maybe what he really meant was: "Hell yes President Trump's comments were demoralizing and disheartening, because he didn't far enough. So-called Judge Robart is proof that sasquatch mated with a pacific sturgeon. He probably got his law license in a box of Cracker Jacks. And he probably wishes he could be Lena Dunham's bitch so he could grovel at her feet while she spanks him and tells him he's been a bad bad boy."

Blumenthal lied about being on the ground in Viet Nam. Any one that makes a "mis-speak" like that aka a frigen lie has zero credibility in my view

Another troll attempt at divide and conquer?

FReepers beware of falling into the trap of dividing Gorsuch from Trump, Ivanka from Priebus, Bannon from Kelly, Flynn from Newt, Conway from Haley.

The left will try to convince us that if some in the choir sing soprano, some sing alto, some sing tenor, some sing bass that there is a problem.

No, we should not all chant in a monotone. We are not the Left.

President Trump just “Tweeted”: “Sen.Richard Blumenthal, who never fought in Vietnam when he said for years he had (major lie), now misrepresents what Judge Gorsuch told him?”

That was a brilliant move on his part.

The left will slobber over him like a juicy bone.

Wheels within wheels.

What's his record so far? Does anyone care or are they all just content with going all concern-troll?

I've seen several rumors and theories but none of them even mention anything about his record.

“...I won’t believe he said that until I hear him say it himself...”

Agree. This was my take on it all as well and will give Gorsuch the benefit of the doubt as he has so many enemies who would love to smear him right now.

It is very probable that the supposed comments from Gorsuch will be proved to be fake news.

No freaking way. Gorsuch was an inspired choice by President Trump, a 49-year-old originalist judge praised for his intelligence and writing ability. He’s exactly the type of nominee that will sail through confirmation (and create Democrat civil wars in the process), convince Justice Kennedy that the water’s fine to retire now because Trump won’t nominate a Judge Roy Moore-type to replace him (personally, I would love to see a younger version of Moore in SCOTUS, but it is neither necessary to our long-term goals nor conducive to our strategy to convince Kennedy to retire so that we finally can have a conservative majority to overturn Roe, Obergefell, etc.), and, if Democrat Senators overplay their hand and filibuster despite objections from those who are up in 2018, convince RINOs like Collins and Murkowski to vote for the nuclear option (those two would be unlikely to go along if the nominee were not someone to their liking). And Gorsuch is exactly the type of originalist and strict-constructionist that can make logical arguments in his opinions so that we finally get back the rule of law and respect for the Constitution.

As for Gorsuch’s comments, they’re exactly what he needed to say. Notice that he didn’t say that President Trump’s legal arguments are incorrect, only that it is demoralizing for members of the Judicial Branch when any politician claims that they “aren’t real judges” just because they rule against them. And people forget that he is going through a confirmation process, and was meeting with a Democrat Senator *as requested by Trump’s team* when he made the statement in response to a question by said Senator. Gorsuch answered in the best way possible to meet President Trump’s goal of achieving a quick confirmation by the Senate.

Besides, the confirmation hearings for President Trump’s Cabinet have shown that President Trump didn’t want a bunch of yes-men in his Cabinet, and the President exoressed support for his nominees even when they publicly asserted their disagreement with many of the President’s preferred policies. And those were disagreements of policy, which are far more important than disagreements of Tweeting style.

We are at the cusp of obtaining confirmation for a 49-year-old originalist Justice that could lead to Justice Kennedy’s replacement with another originalist within the next three years. Don’t let’s mess this up by raising a sh1t-storm over a judge expressing disagreement with a statement that referred to a fellow federal judge as a “so-called judge.”

This has happened before with Bush,

I don’t know all the background on this case, but he isn’t a political appointee, he is a presidential nominee

Remember, independent Judiciary.

"Blumenthal lied about his military service, so why should I believe what he has to say?"

Yup. Blumenthal tried to pass himself off as some kind of Vietnam war hero, when in fact he never served in Vietnam. Apparently the voters of his extreme far left yankee democrat state had no problem whatsoever with this scumbag's repeated lies and dishonorable actions.

I am a member of, and regularly attend, the Roman Catholic Church. From the Pontiff himself to most parish priests, the Church asserts that countries should accept all refugees that come to their doors, especially economic refugees. Does that mean that I, ipso facto of my membership in the Church, am a supporter of open borders? Or that, if I were in SCOTUS, I could be expected to rule against President Trump’s plans to perform extreme vetting on immigrants from terrorist areas, build a border wall, strongly enforce E-Verify, etc.? Were you to believe that, then you don’t know anything about me. And if you oppose all Catholic judges because they “go to the Red Pope’s church,” then I guess that President Trump won’t be able to nominate Judge Hardiman or Judge Pryor either.

You should judge Neil Gorsuch on his record, not on the fact that he attends the church of his father and grandfather and great-grandfather and so on (the Gorsuches have been Episcopalians for many generations).

Exactly!

No loss of Republicans and possible gain of a few Democrats with this comment.

I bet Trump or Bannon wrote the script.

Blumenthal is a bitter partisan and has a reputation for lying and making things up. I don’t believe what Blumenthal said.

Yes, Blumenthal chronically lied about serving in the military, he has no credibility.
