The viral video showed a legless woman sitting on the floor of a subway platform, wheelchair beside her, belongings scattered.

She had just smoked a joint on the M train, yelling incoherently at an angry straphanger who cursed her out and threatened to toss her off the train.

The cell-phone video seemed to document a sad chapter in the chaotic life of one of New York City’s thousands of mentally-ill homeless people.

I got this info from a past successful lottery winner - I lost the link to it. He said it was only 6-8 classes you need to take to be a certified financial advisor. He also said to leave yourself some “spending money” while you learn.

The bank will have to make good on it, this is just a line to kick the can down the road, until less attention is being paid.

The company I used to work for had a $50,000 check stolen, out of the mail. The thief printed a new check, using the numbers on the bottom, stole someone’s identity, and opened up a bank account, under that name. The phony check was deposited, and two weeks later, the account was cleaned out.

The bank VERY QUIETLY covered the loss.

It was cashed. JP Morgan is refusing to disclose who cashed it.

Yeah lives not far from where I grew up. According to my relatives still in the area. The money went completely to his head swelled his sense of self importance to an astronomical level. He took the one time lump sum rather then the yearly payment. He went to every strip joint in Cabell, Putnam & Kanawha counties, left lavish tips and got robbed of $500k at one. He also couldn’t stay out of the news - local TV, radio etc. He constantly sought them out and gave his two cents on every topic. This behavior painted a huge bulls eye on his back & his family’s back and it all ended in tragic consequences. The worst was what happened to his granddaughter, he showered her with money. She was too young to handle it and to make a long sad story short. She ended up running with the wrong crowd and died of a drug overdose. Some say she was killed over a bad drug deal.
He ended up divorced, his kids all divorced, and went from a respectable businessman to local laughingstock.

All I want to do is load up a tablet with all of western classic literature and sit on a beach.

He probably wasn’t the type of guy who was open for honest guidance.

Me too. I already have my cover story as to why I’m so relatively young and retired.

Former civil servant on a modest pension.

I hear a TV ad : “I have an annuity, but I need cash now, I have a sutured settlement but I need cash now, call this number” and we will pay you a small amount of the amount, then we get the on going payments and you are SOL. Stupidity runs deep in some people.

All I want to do is load up a tablet with all of western classic literature and sit on a beach.

That's actually very similar to what I would do if I came into a lot of money and never had to work again. There are thousands of books out there I would like to read and lack only the leisure time to get to them all.

I would certainly not squander the money and would live very conservatively.

Getting back to this once-millionaire who lost her legs getting pushed from a subway platform, I ride the NYC trains a lot and always have that fear in the back of my mind when I'm on a platform. I always pay attention to who is standing behind me and I never get that close to the edge.

I understand. I never stand close to the platform when riding my LRT. I always have my back against something, so I can see them coming.
