If Mazda can do this they've just revolutionized the internal combustion engine. A 30% improvement in efficiency would make the engine what, 70% efficient?

Chrysler developed a turbine engine during the 1950s. It was generally successful but offered only a slight gain in power at a cost of mileage.
The engineering was not lost as the engine was used in the M1 Abrams tank. Different companies make it but it was originally Chrysler.

Diesel electronic FI systems have become so precisely tuned in these days, I not will be surprised to see similar injector systems come to be use in gas engines. It's computer speed combined with injector cycling ability that, would be my guess about this Wonder technology. This is exciting though, It sound explosive. We like explosive.
