Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, the high-flying Fijian-born professional wrestler who rose to fame alongside icons Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Andre the Giant in Vince McMahon's WWE (then the WWF), is dead at the age of 73.

His death comes less than a month after murder charges were dropped in the 1983 death of his then-girlfriend Nancy Argentino. WWE superstar and Snuka's daughter Tamina Snuka announced her father's death on Instagram.

I haven’t kept up with wrestling in 50 years.

When I was a kid, Daddy liked to watch it. They would place a ring in the old Chautauqua Building in DeFuniak Springs. They put on a pretty good show but we all knew it was fake.

Well most of us knew it was fake.

I can remember some of them. The Medics, Mario Galento, Spider Galento, Dick Dunn, Greg Peterson, and Joe Scarpa. I guess they are all gone now.

There’s a youtube video of Piper’s Pit where Rowdy Roddy beats Snuka mercilessly with a coconut, chairs, bananas, etc.
It’s hilarious.

I loved watching him when I was a kid. The evidence sure seems clear that he murdered his girlfriend.

everyone forgets Snuka came in to the WWE as a heel, but was so popular with the areobatics that he became a fan favorite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKXpSyjfIik

Cool....some good names there. Best matches on Bob Luce championship wrestling were always between Blackjack Mulligan,Blackjack Lanza vs. The Bruiser, the Crusher. Bobby Heenan in the Blackjack’s corner.

Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka, Wrestling Legend, Dead at 73

Let me fix that, "Known murderer Jimmy Snuka dead at 73".

So Hogan was blacklisted from WWE for using the n-word, but Snuka is a murderer and he's still cool?!! Forget Jimmy Snuka. He murdered his former girlfiend and he won't deserve a moment of the tributes he'll get this week.

Interesting that they billed the Iron Sheik as just 'The Sheik' in the pre USA cable days...

My one and only trip to “The Garden” was back (I get a little foggy on some dates) Summer 82?

I saw Superfly leap from the top of a steel cage.

Absolutely electrifying.

In a sense, he beat the murder rap, if you call dying beating it. The charges were dropped because he had dementia and was about to die, which he promptly did.
