You could see this coming. Animal rights groups had hounded them mercilously. I remember how fun it was to watch them live. Another bit of Americana sacrificed on the altar of liberalism.
Without any connection to wildlife at all, wildlife suffers. Because of circuses the population believed in betterment of wildlife. Now, the cities are wildlife.
Sad. Obamanomics.
Very sad.
The have big PC problems. They don’t even call themselves a circus in their ads anymore.
PETA picks on them all the time. Clowns are seen as all evil anymore...it goes on and on.
I once caught their act at the Super Dome in New Orleans. I was thinking that we would be able to walk around the acts, etc. However, we had to sit in the bleachers, and I did not bring my binoculars. I left fairly quickly.
I brought my kids to RB when they were small a few times. B.O.
Even then the tickets, for good seats, were $100 a piece or close to it.
I can't imagine what they are now. A.O.
Factor in a funky hat or two, a cool drink in a funny cup you get to keep, dinner at the Red Robin after and you are looking at real money.
Hell, the burgers at Red Robin for a family of four with tax and tip will set you back $65.
Very glad I am not "just starting out". It'd be downright depressing.
