Oakland Raiders to file relocation papers, will move to Las Vegas

The Oakland Raiders have had one foot out of the door of Oakland for years. But Saturday morning the team confirmed it will file relocation papers to move the franchise to Las Vegas. The news is expected to be officially unveiled by Raiders soon and was first reported by NFL Media's Ian Rapoport Saturday morning at 3 a.m. PT.

No way a cesspit of a city like Oakland can afford to keep the Raiders. They hardly have the money to keep cops on the street. The Raiders could have moved into Levi Stadium but why share when LV is going to foot the bill for a gold plated stadium.

Remember the league gave them 3rd choice on LA, they could only move there if the Chargers chose not to, the Chargers chose to, so that option was off the table.

Are they planning an air conditioned dome stadium. If not, you have to wonder about the wisdom of this move from a football operations standpoint. Pre-season & early-Fall games are going to be pretty hot. Heat exhaustion would be expected.

Hmmmmm. I’m still willing to swap LV for Lake Tahoe to calibfornia. They can have vegas and Nevada will take control of everything 50 miles west of the current stateline north of Clark county. Works for me since vegas is more politically in line with calibfornia.

I hope the “Raiders” do move to Vegas, their name would be more fitting. Not only that but they would NOT be considered as an “expansion” team thus protecting good players from other teams.

I switched to rugby. Faster game, more action, no commercials, and no dangerous rigid padding.Much more fun to watch. Hardest part was to learn the position names. LOL! Ever hear of "tighthead prop?"

I played “loose head prop “ as I got older & slower I moved to “tight head prop”. During a couple of seasons we had some huge props & I played hooker. In 25 years of playing the game I played every position in the “pack”.
