DUNDALK, Maryland (AP/Meredith) - A man who got upset when his wife took a bite of his grilled cheese sandwich opened fire inside his home and sparked an hours-long standoff with police, according to authorities.
Baltimore County police worked to diffuse the bizarre situation Sunday night.
During the standoff, a woman and three teenagers ran outside the home and told officers a man started shooting through the basement floor after he found out someone ate a piece of his sandwich, WBAL-TV

A few questions:
Is it cabin fever season already?
Was booze involved?
Was there intent to kill or did he just shoot through the floor in an attempt to communicate?
I am thinking “last straw/final nerve” incident. Guys an idiot and not defendable, but theres way more to it.
In relative terms he raises the respectability levels of the guys who have had enough and just walk away forever. At least they can say I didnt try to kill them, I just left.

Some ‘significant others’ think taking a bite of their partners’ food straight off their partner’s plates is cute and a way to bond. This is seen a lot in restaurants, where they boldly (and repeatedly!) invade their partner’s plate, instead of ordering the same dish for themselves. The other half of the population, raised not to ever share sodas, salads, dinner plates, bubble gum or ice cream cones would aggressively disagree.
I think it's just a combination of sociopathic behavior + narcissism + drugs/alcohol.
