Vibrating hot pants are the ‘smart’ invention no one knew they needed (Spinali at CES)(tr)

The Spinali Design vibrating shorts allow the wearer to interact with their environment and could be the strangest invention showcased at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

You may remember Spinali from their ‘smart’ bikini, which told the wearer when they’d had too much sun. Now they’re tackling a slightly more… ‘conservative’ market with ‘smart’ pants.

The vibrating pants are available in a multitude of design options (shorts, regular jeans, 3/4 pants and skirts) and while there are big plans for developments in the future, they currently only function as a wearable GPS with sensors that vibrate left or right, steering you to your destination.

There is one slightly pervy feature which sounds mildly intriguing.

It’s called ‘ping’ and allows you to vibrate the sensors in the pants of someone sitting near you to get their attention.

‘This is useful for when you want to discreetly attract someone’s attention, or for open offices, or for students.’

From the Spinali Design website:

Equipped with two vibrating sensors on the belt and connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth, this product offers new features that integrate into your daily environment. The geolocation feature allows you to navigate through your urban journeys using guiding vibrations either on the right or left side of your Essential jeans. This technology provides an easier, and above all more intuitive option to help you find your car or your meeting place, for example. More fun features called “Ping” will satisfy those who want to interact with their surroundings through vibration that can be customized in terms of duration, frequency and intensity. This is useful for when you want to discreetly attract someone’s attention, or for open offices, or for students. The system can also be programmed to inform you if you are running late. With its integrated push button, this clothing of the future has numerous uses: security alerts, home support, geolocation of your children, a solution for the problem of isolated workers, etc.

Something of high-tech computer interest, even though not strictly Windows ... PING!

You can find all the Windows Ping list threads with FR search: just search on keyword "windowspinglist".

Vibration that occurs in the front, lower regions of the clothing indicates that the user should “progress straight-on towards orgasm!”

As a man I already feel like an idiot necessary third wheel.
