I was absolved for slavery many years ago, over the radio, by Dr. Walter Williams.

“Many blacks were born in Mexico and followed their parents into slavery.”

Ok so how do you define “many”?

Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador have very sizeable black populations. Brazil’s black population outnumbers America’s actually.

But Mexico? I lived there for 10 years and the only black I ever saw was a member of the Harlem Globetrotters traveling team.

You’re going to need to pull a rabbit out of your hat to back up your claim that “Mexico probably enslaved more Africans than any other colony in the Western Hemisphere”.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

They just worked them until they collapsed. If you read the histories of many Spanish slave colonies they did work many of their slaves to death. They did not let them marry and produce children, it was just cheaper just to work them until they dropped and then buy another one off of a ship. Anglo-Saxon culture is, to put it bluntly, just more humane than that of Spain’s.

Here is my source for the Mexico statistics: http://www.smithsonianeducation.org/migrations/legacy/almleg.html

Very interesting! I never traveled much to the southern more jungle parts of the country. I lived mostly up north towards Texas/New Mexico - the people are mostly of European heritage the further north you go in Mexico.

Mexicans are the most racist people I have ever met.
There’s a phrase they use called “Prieto” for the darker toned folks among their population. It’s a a very derogatory word.

Interestingly enough, for whatever reason, Chinese or Asians are considered the lowest racial cast if you actually ever breach the subject in conversations.

I’ll have to read more about this subject in my down time. Thanks.

No problem. I should have posted the link back to the source of the info. I get a little lazy when posting from my phone. Cutting & pasting is such a pain without a mouse so I get a bit lazy about it.

I had a Mexican-American roommate for one semester in college whose surname was Chino--which means "Chinese." Padre Kino, the famous Jesuit explorer, was an Italian whose surname was Chino--but he changed the spelling to reflect the pronunciation and because of the Spanish meaning of "Chino."

I read somewhere that about 5% of the Mexican population is of African descent. Pio Pico, Mexican governor of California, was partially of African descent.

Well Mexico always has Memin Pinguin. That full blooded African population is long gone I'd bet. There are a lot of mixtures the further south you go there though - like Central America. There are tiny Asian communities spread about Latin America no doubt about that. My Cuban wife's cousin is 1/4 Chinese and 3/4 Spanish. She & her kids look Filipino - those Asian genes are strong as heck.

November 8. Latinos, black people, white people, and other ethnicities have said ‘we’ve had enough of this racial divide in America’, and they really want to move on from it. But this president will not allow them to do that.” …

It's not quite that simple. Nor is it all that evident that the majority of Latinos and blacks or non-whites want to. No doubt Obama is very racial but it is a much bigger issue than that. There is no way to 'move on from it' until we have that 'honest discussion on race' that Holder alluded too years ago. That ain't going to happen unless we get the MSM, Hollywood, academia, and chicken s**t whites out of it. We have thousands of non-white & anti-white race based organizations in this nation. Anti-white and race based laws and a very one way 'dialog' on race. Most whites are tired of all of it. Not just Obama.

If they really want to move on from it then let us disband all race based groups immediately and permanently. Ready? Yeah, I didn't think so...

It’s interesting to see when the rest of the world got rid of slavery. The US was not alone as liberals would have us believe. In South America the average life span for slaves was 1/3 that of US slaves.

AFAICS, the USA is an abolition pioneer for its era, once the colonies became states; but in 1789, slavery was still legal in New York, New Jersey and Delaware, interestingly enough.
