It was a wild night of celebrations and booze-fuelled mayhem on the streets of Britain last night as revellers welcomed in 2017 - and no one was wrapping up warm.
Millions of raucous party-goers packed out pubs and clubs, with some braving the freezing temperatures in skimpy dresses.
However, as Britons waved goodbye to 2016, there were some unsavoury scenes with fights breaking out in Swansea and Manchester.

Hey...I have been there too, out of control, etc. When I see guys in a state like that, I roll my eyes and think “Just guys being stupid, as we sometimes are...” but when I see women like that, it bothers me. I do expect women to be a civilizing force for us men.
Yes. I do put women on a pedestal in that respect. I think women compliment men in many ways (and vice versa) and this is one of the ways I think women do that. Men can be rough, uncivil, and yes, stupid. And for many men, a good woman can keep them on the straight and narrow.
Nowadays, it seems like women are advocating for the right to be as stupid as we sometimes are.
Sigh. I know...I am just getting crittery about stuff like this as I get older. What can I say...

I spent a month in the UK when I worked for ICI this type of behavior is common. Do a Friday night in Newcastle.
I admit, my own experience encompasses a lot of cases where a woman who loves him has brought a wild man down to earth. Seems far more common for women to have that effect on men, than vice versa.
I can’t disagree with you on that but the UK is the UK and the US is the US.
Even though our heritage is developed from an English model, am old one, there are many things that we forget. Read a “World Lit Only BY Fire”, William Manchester had a hand in it.
If I got the title correct, I read it years ago it, it brings up a number of thing about the past that we have forgotten.
