Poll Shows That Trump Voters Are More Likely To Believe In Conspiracies

There is no way to have a properly functioning democracy without an informed public. But time after time polls show that far too many Americans believe in conspiracy theories. A recent poll conducted by The Economist/YouGov found that a person’s political preferences are a major factor in determining whether they’ll believe a conspiracy with Trump voters being especially susceptible to them.

First, the poll found that Americans of all political stripes are ill-informed on some major issues.

Do you believe there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that the U.S. never found?

53% YES / 47% NO

Do you believe that vaccines cause autism?

31% YES / 69% NO

When it comes to partisan issues, Trump voters are more likely to believe in conspiracies than Clinton voters.

IOW - Trump supporters are smart enough to know a conspiracy when we see one....most of ours are proven right while the other side makes them up out of dog doo...

The dual of the argument would conclude Clinton voters are more naive.

MSM sure has been conspiring to protect Hillary. It should have been front page how she was fed questions and topics to help her against Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump and to dismiss the FBI’s outrageous pass of her breaking the law.

Did these pollsters predict Trump losing during the primaries and in the November election?

‘President Obama was born in Kenya’

Leftists would rather eat their own eyeballs than asking ask if Obama was born in Canada.

I find myself constantly shaking my head at the liberals stating “they are afraid,” of what Trump is going to do.

Talk about conspiracy theories. I’ve heard that we are going to toss queers from buildings, force women to abort their children by themselves, and that he and Putin are going to split up Europe between them.

All sorts of crazy stuff.

None of it is going to happen.

The US government has lied so much in the last 30yrs. how can anyone take anything they says as the truth. As a whole each department lies with such ease and a total lack of integrity and without regard to any law being broken how can one not find some conspiracies more credible than the US government.

“Conspiracy theory” is anything that disagrees with the official establishment narrative.

Gee, Study shows Trump voters more likely to read than most a average Americans.

All this shows is that Trump voters are no longer taking the MSM at their words and are reading books and studies stating other facts.

I’m doing deep research on Harry Reid and now Podesta. We are now way past conspiracy paranoia. There are racketeering and mafia ties.

Great point! I believe in the conspiracy of the media to never tell the truth about a Democrat so how dumb am I? I also believe that Obama was not born in America and just because there is a pile of evidence six feet high that says so that makes me a conspiracy believer.

Hey dumb ass it aint a conspiracy when you KNOW they are lying as in the “phony totally made up” Wikileaks Emails showing the Democrats want to topple the Catholic Church.

Good for you. I have been doing research on "Who is he?", [Obama], since 2008 and we still don't who is he, who his paternal parents are, or where on earth was he born!

I do know, have a retired police chief friend who lives in that neck of woods, that says the voter fraud in Nevada is tremendous. I don't like his ties to the BLM either.

Thanks for what you do.
