Poll Shows That Trump Voters Are More Likely To Believe In Conspiracies
The Daily Goos ^ | 12/29/2016 | Tod Perry

There is no way to have a properly functioning democracy without an informed public. But time after time polls show that far too many Americans believe in conspiracy theories. A recent poll conducted by The Economist/YouGov found that a person’s political preferences are a major factor in determining whether they’ll believe a conspiracy with Trump voters being especially susceptible to them.

First, the poll found that Americans of all political stripes are ill-informed on some major issues.

Do you believe there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that the U.S. never found?

53% YES / 47% NO

Do you believe that vaccines cause autism?

31% YES / 69% NO

When it comes to partisan issues, Trump voters are more likely to believe in conspiracies than Clinton voters.

My informal poll shows that most Trump supporters no longer believe in media polls...

There will be a considerable increase in conspiracy believers on the left while Trump is in office.

So do the fair and balanced nutjobs at Snopes get to decide what’s a conspiracy and what isn’t?

The media believe Putin conspired to hack the election.

The CIA conspired to bomb the WTC

Bush conspired to fake WMDs

etc

It all depends on the poll numbers....if Trump voters believe it, then it's a conspiracy...

Accusations from the left of “conspiracy theories” are typically indicative of the inability of the left to defend their beliefs in the free market arena of ideas. Since they are unable to argue their position on a case by case basis based on facts, logic, and empirical evidence, they resort, instead, to accusing the other side of engaging in “conspiracy theories” in an attempt to artificially shut down the opposition in one stroke. If one continues to calmly present facts, evidence, and analysis in spite of being labeled a “conspiracist”, the left then immediately resorts to angry personal insults and name calling.

Remember when GHWB flying in the ST-71 to negotiate the release of the hostages in Iran on the eve of the 1980 election was all the rage? Which side bought that conspiracy theory?

The Rosenbergs: conspiracy later proved true.
McCarthy: accusations of communist infiltration later proved true by Venona decrypts.
Media bias: accusations proven true by Wikileaks emails
Clintoon corruption: allegations substantiated by federal investigators although no criminal charges leveled

Wonder why those crazy conservatives keep insisting that there are hidden plots to undermine them ...

Don’t believe in conspiracies????!!!!!

Why then do people go see movies?

I am always amused by these idiots who like to insinuate they don’t believe in conspiracies. They evidently have never read a book on history in their life.

Podesta and his group would not have needed to email each other were it not for conspiracies.

Hillary would not have needed a private server.

All drama and literature depend on conspiracies in their plots. Too many examples to start listing.

Conspiracies are the warp and woof of human existence.

A nonsense survey if the only responses were true or untrue. Quite a few people would pick “Don’t Know” for many of those questions.

Mostly worthless results.
