My wife asked me what my favorite Christmas movie is. I answered Die Hard. She was not pleased. What is yours?

Totally agree. By far the best version.

Words I never get to say after the gift exchange: "Now I have a machine gun. Ho-ho-ho!"

Still, my favorite is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Unfortunately no one has picked "Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever"

Maybe they were just not remembering it.... or maybe they were.

Bad Santa, hands down. Don’t watch it with the children though.

Die Hard is my answer too.

But also the original "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" is also a must.

For those who like the “Marvel superhero” type films...
“Jeeg Robot” has a very ‘Christmassy’ plot and theme.

But: subtitles.

“3 Godfathers” is a different movie. ;)
Did you know that and I missed the joke?

I said the same thing .. Die Hard.

However, it's really a four-way tie: Die Hard, White Christmas, Scrooged, and Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol ...

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol

You should watch “Hell’s Heroes”! It’s an earlier version. It’s grittier and has quite a different ending. I first watched it because I love all things about Bodie, CA (ghost town). Part of the movie was filmed there—before the 1932 fire.

If you love “3 Godfathers,” you might love “Hell’s Heroes” even more. Even though I love the actors in Godfathers, Hell’s Heroes is just as wonderful to me.

I have seen the version with Chester Morris, but have never seen Hell’s Heroes. Have to find it, even if only to see a young Charles Bickford.

Christmas Vacation...

Aunt Bethany and Uncle Lewis have some of the best lines.

Ellen: Oh Aunt Bethany, you shouldn’t have done that.

Aunt Bethany: Oh dear, did I break wind?

Uncle Lewis: Jesus, did the room clear out, Bethany? Hell no, she means presents. You shouldn’t have brought presents.

Aunt Bethany: What’s that sound? You hear it? It’s a funny squeaky sound.

Uncle Lewis: You couldn’t hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant.

Had a great time this evening with a sold-out crowd watching Die Hard at a Dallas theater. It was audience participation, with toy cap pistols, Twinkies and lighters. Happens every year. Several people dressed to match the film also.

I love Alan Rickman, so I was the only one cheering for him as opposed to the rest of the audience who were clicking cap pistols at him!

3 Godfathers with John Wayne was filmed at the Olancha, CA sand dunes about 150 miles south of Bodie and 10 miles south of Lone Pine, Western movie capital of the World.

I used to have to watch the old “Miracle of 34th Street” in order for it to be Christmas. For some reason, I’ve lost that need. Go figger.
