I would consider that much better than the current State employees who are bribed by tin pot dictators and filling their own pockets - wouldn’t you?

The Labor Dept pick is the only one that I can tell is definitely a Cheap Labor Express guy. I think the point of that nomination is to remove labor regulations. Literally no one knows better about the unnecessary regulations than the CEO of a chains of restaurants. I call it a brilliant move. I don't think he has power over immigration.

Sort of like Trump donating to everybody to get zoning permits and things when he needs them? I don’t fault Trump for that. And being consistent, I don’t fault Tillerson either.

And sort of like Ted Cruz making his Christian piousness a cornerstone of his campaign and later admitting he gave none of his millions to charity.

According to who? What source do you have that points to this? I will wager to bet that all of Trumps nominees will fly through confirmation.

So you think he’s going to be promoting a gay agenda throughout the world? Is that a real concern...
.....................................................

He has no respect for the word of God. That is a very big concern. Very disappointed to see anyone here supporting such a man. To me that is also a big concern. Thought this was a God loving site.

There are so many other experienced people who could have been a SOS. Col Allen West for one. Marsha Blackburn. Duncan Hunter.

I am not pleased with oil man with ties to Russia. Whatever the Obama admin and CIA and Soros folks are planning with EV and possible Federal intervention with Trump voted in; this just adds fuel to the fire with the fake news Russian hacking story.

Personal life

Tillerson is married to Renda St. Clair and has four children.[42][7] He resides in Irving, Texas.[7] Tillerson is a Christian.[43] He and his wife donated $5,000-$10,000 to the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches in 2012.[44]

Tillerson is a solid choice.

A ‘Christian’ who ushered homosexuality into the Boy Scouts. I feel much better now./s

...does get one thinking why a man would do such a thing.

This explains a lot, IMO.
From Wikipedia:

Tillerson is a longtime contributor to Republican campaigns. According to the FEC records available online, Tillerson has given $442,284.50 in direct contributions since 2003, $72,200 in “joint fundraising contributions” and $5000 to a Super PAC. FEC records do not show any contributions by Tillerson to Democrats during this period.[34]

He has contributed to George W. Bush,[4] as well as Mitt Romney in 2012 and Mitch McConnell.[35] He did not donate to Donald Trump’s campaign.[4] He donated to Jeb Bush’s campaign during the 2016 Republican primaries.[4][36]

I agree. This pick on the heals of Obama ordering investigation into Russian involvement into the election. Then Trump picks someone Putin loves and adores. Just gives the fake news folks more fuel to the fire against Trump and Russian conspiracies.

When Breitbart, the biggest pro-Trump site on the web, raises opposition, you know there are concerns with the pick.

This is the third pick that has disappointed me.

He didn’t donate to Trump but gave to Romney, George and Jeb Bush. Hmmmm...

Do the math. 47 Dem no votes in the Senate. Then President Trump only has to have 4 Republicans vote no to lose a cabinet pick. Trump is waving a red flag at the Senate bulls with this pick and daring them to oppose it.

Oh, so we shouldn’t support playboy Trump because that isn’t very Godly either right? Please name me one cabinet member of the last 200 years who was a perfect example of God’s will on earth. Don’t bother, there aren’t any, not now and not ever. The moral decay in the country is in part because people have refused the good because they couldn’t find the perfect. Sorry, at this time it’s more important that the country be pulled back from globalism, put people in the courts who will actually interpret the laws and not write them from the bench. The country wasn’t screwed up in 4 years and it won’t be fixed in 4 years by putting “perfect” people in the cabinet. In case you’re confused and lest you confuse me of a supporter of that disaster of a policy I do not but that isn’t a reason in and of itself to stop a potentially incredible change in the direction of the country.

Swamp pick.

He was a global businessman. He went out and made deals to pump oil from wherever he could. I’m not sure why that means that he is a globalist that will put other nations interests ahead of America.
I’m not sure that he would call Putin a buddy. They worked out oil deals. Probably not that terrible that he has a history and a relationship with him.

I say he deserves a shot if he’s Trump’s pick.
I like Bolton as his right hand at state.

I’m sorry, but it’s very very bad.
“Less than 24 hours after the volunteer delegates voted to change the BSA’s membership policy for youth, Tillerson addressed a large room full of Scouting volunteers and professionals at the closing general session of the BSA’s National Annual Meeting.”

I agree, Tillerson should have resigned from the Boy Scouts instead of undertaking the implementation of this part of the militant homosexualist demands.
Bolton would be the better choice as SOS - we know what he’s made of and he’s experienced in this area; he knows how to deal with other countries.

I've seen reports that Exxon lost one billion dollars due to Russian sanctions. And I saw a report that Tillerson holds Exxon stock options that won't vest for a decade. If true, that's a huge conflict of interest.

I wouldn't have picked Tillerson.

I read that he was president when the delegates voted it in and then implemented it. I don’t believe he decided on his own but whatever makes you feel better I guess.

Gay rights

Tillerson served as president of the Boy Scouts of America from 2010-2012, at the time that the delegates voted to allow openly gay youths to join their troops and earn their merit badges. After the vote took place, Tillerson led the Boy Scouts to implement the change.[31][23]
