Brooke Hughes, 18, from Scranton, and Chaniya Morrison-Toomey, 19, from Dunmore, died in the crash, which happened just after midnight Tuesday near Mount Pocono, according to KTLA sister station WNEP in Scranton.

The pair died after their car was hit from behind by a big rig.

The video, which has been taken down from Facebook, shows Hughes driving along Interstate 380 while holding the cellphone, according to the Times-Tribune newspaper in Scranton.

Morrison-Toomey asks, "Are you going live?"

But before Hughes can respond, lights suddenly fill the interior of the car and there's the sound of screeching tires. Then the video goes black.

Pokemon Go is one common distraction that could be disabled above 10 mph for starters.
Police in my town have been writing summonses, mostly for teenagers playing the game while driving their cars.
As mentioned, there would need to be workarounds for those who are moving, yet not necessarily operating a vehicle.

Do not enter 75mph traffic at 25mph

Some easterners will do that a lot I found decades ago staying in N. Carolina.

Coming from Calif, was unprepared for the eastern habit of slowing/stopping at the top of the onramp. Nearly rearended a dozen cars before I figured to watch for these idiots.

Back in SoCal, ran into tourists doing the same damn thing on L.A. freeways. The idea of blending with traffic was untaught back where they came form, I suppose. Geezers everywhere are bad about it, like changing lanes, they expect people to give them a pass.

I believe this, cell phones, social media, doing these things are causing a lot of fatal accidents.

The simple solution is to restrict humans from driving.

Elon Musk says that eventually human’s driving will be illegal.

By many estimates, I am a geezer, and I want them out of my damn way when I enter the freeway. The onramps are for acceleration testing after all..............

Keep the Priaps on the side streets where the golf carts belong.

"It was just after midnight when the truck started down the hill that leads into Scranton Pennsylvania.
Carrying Brooke, Chaniya and 30,000 pounds...of bananas. "
