EASTON, Pa. (AP) – A teenager accused of producing a racist video of a black classmate eating chicken and posting it online could face criminal charges, a prosecutor said Wednesday.
Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said he’s considering ethnic intimidation and harassment charges against a 14-year-old white student at Saucon Valley High School.
The teenager recorded a 16-year-old black boy eating chicken wings and in narrating the video called the older boy the N-word and made references to “being broke and on welfare,” said Morganelli, who called the video “reprehensible” and “repulsive.”
But no charges on rapper videos doing much worse?
Was he eating chicken?
Now I will say the use of the “N” word is vile (including by rappers) but criminal charges?
Begins and ends with 1st Amendment Freedom of Speech.
Repulsive as it is, this is free speech.
We are NOT becoming Canada.
Not on MY watch.
I suspect the 14 year old is the son of a wealthy Democrat.
He gets it from casual conversation around the dinner table.
If one were to reverse the roles and if it was black on white discrimination this never would have made the news.
It’s the old double standard. But then, whites are expected to maintain a higher standard of decency. Minorities get a free pass.
But this kid - because he is white - must be punished.
Kids live on a steady diet of this stuff on social media and Youtube. It’s easy for it to escape into the adult world where it suddenly becomes “offensive”. White kids feed on this stuff from black kids. I work chain gang for HS football and when the predominantly black schools come, it is N word city.
They see it as simply humorous. Denigrating people is practically expected in their world. It’s funny to watch the adults try to figure out if it is allowed. i.e. Can a Muslim kid denigrate a gay kid?
In addition to charges being against the first amendment, it’s a ridiculous and frivolous waste of taxpayer resources. I had lots of mean things said about me when I was a kid and dished some back. We all lived and I’m doing quite well.
Last time I checked, using the n-word and being a racist wasn’t a criminal activity.

It’s not about the chicken is it; then why the false headline? A fake headline? MSM is making noise about working on the fake news reporting... but appears to get hung up on the totality of the concept.
A clearer headline to actually focus on what the videographer is being charged with would have been more appropriate, rather than some minstrel show lead in. The left is a dog pile of haters and race baiters.
A couple days before the semester started, my son’s roommate, who happens to be black sent out a group text to a bunch of friends.
“To my friends of lesser melanin content, I’m on the way.”
It was pretty funny. None of these guys are snowflakes and don’t take themselves too seriously.
While I hate the video. I have to say freedom of speech should let this guy off.
The video does not appear to be the problem; the dialogue does. If they’re good wings, I’d happily sit down next to the kid and have a portion. My only comments would be how much I enjoyed them.
I’m a middle-aged white male.
I love fried chicken.
