Saw Eric Clapton in Lakeland, Florida in the late 1970's. Ditched my friends who were always late and got to the open seating venue in the 2nd row.

Also saw Lynyrd Skynyrd about five times at the same location including 2 days before the tragic plane crash.

Or would it be "Musical Dischord?"

That's how the whole thing strikes me too.

I think she enjoyed the power she had over men, and she put on this "oops I did it again" act, while loving it.

I haven't any first-hand knowledge at all, but it's my impression that Clapton was not a very likable guy.

It must have hurt like hell when she walked away from George.

On the other hand, maybe he was sick of her by then. Who knows. Beautiful women make you pay; the price is high.

I don't think George had too much trouble finding female companionship.

I've always had the impression she would have enjoyed it if the two had come to blows over her. Her looks could have gotten someone killed.

George handled it really well, very maturely. He was an intelligent man.

No! No - Don’t be sorry.

It’s a great segue into a plethora of “discordant” jokes.

Just the opening notes of him strumming are better then anything the pop stars of today can do.

I have never liked Clapton.

Personally he was offputting.
Musically (my opinion) highly overrated.

There was only one Clapton song that I truly loved.
I attribute that affection more to the contribution made
on it by Marcy Levy than to Clapton’s work.

I wish Levy had recorded it with someone else.

It’s rarely heard on the radio, but here ‘tis -

Lol. There are some on this forum that won’t get your reference. Perhaps Jocelyn was an inspiration for other roick stars. I heard Bob Seger almost changed his band name to ‘The Safer Bullet Band”.

I know it is a great song. Clapton had many problems through his life. Heroin addiction. His young son fell out of his NY apartment window to his death (the song “Tears in Heaven”). It seems he has straightened his life out as much as I can tell. Some people will never forgive and maybe they should not be forgiven too.

Musically (my opinion) highly overrated.

Agreed. I never got what all the hoopla was. I think Knopfler is much better, as is Jimmy Page, or David Gilmour.

And "Wrecking Crew" guitarist Tommy Tedesco could run rings around any of them.

There's an Australian guitarist named Tommy Emmanuel who's also far better.

Admittedly, for pure soul and expression, Jimmy Page was hard to beat, although Jimi Hendrix was up there too. Unfortunately Jimi beat himself.

Give this kid a listen.

I say kid because he’s only 17.
You can FF to about the 1:90 mark and then hold on...

Hate guys like that. Amazing skills and emotion.

But, I’m gonna audition for “The Voice”. Should be fun and I am going to leave it all on the floor.

Not sure what I should sing though.

Runs the gamut of “Dead or Alive” to ballads like
Jon Secada “Angel...or ...I’m Free...or...Do You Believe in Us...or...She’s All I Ever Had”

Maybe Milsap or Twitty or even Gary Morris stuff.

Some people have suggested more modern stuff but, I got no idea what to sing.

The first two songs are acapella for your audition so they have to be awesome and I think contrast genres.

I even thought something like this would be kewel:

My God is Awesome
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38i9V4ICfDQ

No real way to acapella this but, could be in the 1st couple of rounds with vocal and orchestra backup.

Just need to cut it 2.5 minutes, which is no big deal.
