“We were interviewing people for his position. And he was one of the applicants. And so he showed up for the interview and he had Charlotte with him,” Jay Fellers, a human resource manager at Lowes, told CNN affiliate KRBC.

Fellers said Charlotte — who wears her own Lowe’s vest while on duty — has been a hit with customers.

dad seldom wore a necktie. He actually disliked doing so.
Both my father and father-in-law were WWII vets.
Both disliked wearing ties, and I think it was because they grew up during the Depression and never owned one.
That, or maybe the fact that they never went anywhere that required one except maybe church.

PTSD is real. My beloved brother whom was the most strongest of men had PTSD. He never asked nor collected one cent for it.

He cried like a baby about his friend that died. He nor his friend were in a hot combat zone. They were Air Force and his friend was hit by motors at the Air Force base in Saigon, which was normally a safe place.

Each day at the end of his duty shift he would go to the hospital to see his injured friend. One day an officer was there that told him to “go home son.” The nurses knew how much my brother cared for his friend. They did not want him to see that empty bed, that is why the officer was there to tell him to go home, “it was over.”

“There is no greater love than one that will lay down his life for his brother.” I know and understand this. When my beloved brother died he had half my liver in him, this was many years post Vietnam and due to disease and not drugs. I miss him.

PTSD is real.

Have you noticed that Home Depot has parking spaces reserved for veterans? And not just disabled but for all veterans. I was very pleasantly surprised.

How is it he can work if he's disabled?

Our local Lowe's has an employee who is in a wheelchair.

I don't think he's disabled the way you think he is. Military disability is different than SS disability. The VA is based on service-connected injuries, and payments aren't based on or affected by your income. SSDI, however, can be cut based on any paychecks or passive income you bring in or stuff like that. Also, VA disability is non-taxable, while SSDI will be taxed if your total income is greater than $25k.

Hmmmm ..?? I have a few household things I need .. I think I’m going to choose lowes for my purchases. I’ve been in their store near where I live, and I’ve always found them to be friendly and helpful.

PTSD is real just as real as PMS. War is no game of jacks. Our ‘PTB’ need to acquire a bit of common sense. Help the needy- all of them deserve the help; and give nothing to the freeloaders. These ‘folks’ enjoy a free ride at the expense of others.

No need to try and convince me. I, too, believe it is real. War is hell. One does not walk away from it without scars of some sort.

I don’t believe one can collect full disability and hold a job.

Well, you’re wrong.

I think they deduct the amount of your paycheck from the disability.

Not from the VA, I don’t pretend to know about SS or others.

Sorry I am so late with my reply. When I was still working I had a 40-50% disability rating from the VA. My pay was never reduced because of it.
