That is wrong. We used touch screen machines with a visible paper record we can review before accepting. Paper ballots marked with pencil and reviewed by humans are available. This is a small rural township precinct in WI.
BTW, my canvasser friend says they spread the long paper record from the machines across the canvassing room when recounting.
