'In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight'...

... unfortunately, that lion does not sleep in that cage.

Did they perchance, call the lion 'Judah'?

F with the bull, get the horns.

F with the cat ...

Not my opinion, just how it is.

Cats are beautiful and deadly. If I took what my cat does when she attacks my hand playing in the grass ... and added 100 lbs, I too would be dead.

A bite in the head or body from an adult lion or tiger will almost always be fatal. This is a key factor compared to smaller cats like leopards and pumas. While pumas have killed people, leopards are the smallest cat that regularly kills humans, and in parts of India and Africa have acquired a more fearsome reputation than tigers and lions. However, as frightful as a leopard mauling is, it is not as likely to be fearful as compared to a lion or tiger attack. There are people who have even managed to fight off leopards (very few), and for pumas even some women have managed to successfully fend them off. Lions and tigers are another story. Simply too big and powerful.

The lion was apparently recently captured in the wild and apparently not sufficiently tamed and trained.

An adult lion captured in the wild is never going to be sufficiently tamed and trained. Even those bred and born in captivity never lose their natural instincts.
