A Thanksgiving Alone, But Not Alone

Normally I would go to my only relative I talk to in the area, my cousin, but he's down in Williamsburg on vacation. So I am home alone, made a modest Thanksgiving dinner with a New Braunsfels smoked chicken (yum!), mashed potatoes, dressing and peas. I had a co-worker invite me over to his house if I wanted to, but I politely declined - I like the guy, he is a fellow Trump supporter in my department. But I am really not alone. I have all my FReeper buds keeping me company this holiday. And for that I give thanks.

We all are blessed to know each other this way. Even if we disagree at times on various subjects, we are still bound by a love of the Constitution, our country, our history and our heritage.

I like that, but the plate should have roasted crow for Romney, Nikki Haley and the NeverTrump types now rent-seeking from Trump.

I celebrated today with my family, but we are a constantly dwindling lot. I realize that someday I will be spending holidays on my own and this thread gives me heart to know that many fine folks do the same thing and in their own positive style.

I hope FR will be here for all of us for many more years!

But alone is a state of mind. Feeling alone is much worse when you're with some one than when you're on your own.

Thanks, Dirtboy. We’re not feuding, we’re just dealing with things in our own way. There’s 500 miles between me and my closest sibling. Which up until now, has been comforting. Since the events of this past year, that seems a little too far.
