As a parent I cannot imagine anything as horrible as losing a child. My heart breaks for the parents of those children lost. Dear God, please PLEASE bless and keep those children lost near and dear to your heart and bless their parents with your grace, comfort and mercy.
Won’t get any flames from me. I’m reserving those for the school district that hired this guy. I’m still wondering though how that crash occurred. Even with the high speed, seems to me that the only way to roll the bus in that situation is for him to jerk the wheel.
Possible that the driver was drunk, speeding, and overcorrected to avoid a car, critter, or kid in the road. Anyone know if bus video also includes a dashcam?
Editor-surveyor has done a lot of driving and might have a workable theory on the accident. Looking at the map, my guess would be that he took the turn too fast. Then the bus tilted up on the driver’s side wheels and finally onto its side, and struck the tree. My belief also is that even with seat belts, there would have been fatalities.
