Lip-syncing and pretty obvious. That was “our” song during my engagement to my husband (going on 58 years) — but we liked the original by the Italian singer whose name I do not know.

This one is a little before my time.

My only memory of this song is from it being used to advertise a very bad domestic car, circa 1975.

A joke making the rounds in that era:

There’s a new car out. It’s a cross
between a Valiant and a Comet. It’s
called a Vomit. It has a throw-up top,
bucket seats, and the horn goes, “Bleccccchhh!”

One of my All Time Favorites

Back when times were innocent and good. Streets were safe, schools were too. And efficient. People had manners

A memorable time and song

I went out to the hop with Peggy Sue.
Doing the hula hoop, there was Bertha Lou.
I saw Tutti Frutti with a sack dress on
Talking about Carol on the telephone.
Good golly, Miss Molly was doing the bop
To "Yakety Yak" at the record hop.
Hey, pretty baby, I don't mean maybe,
You know, girl, the slop is crazy.
Bird Dog joined and sang "Dipinto di Blu,"
Believe it or not!

--Don Covay, 1958
