NFL Ratings Decline In All But One of Last 26 Primetime Games
Breitbart ^ | November 7, 2016 | Dylan Green

Based on the 27-0 score, most people believed that the late September Thursday Night Football game between the Patriots and the Texans accomplished nothing more than Bill Belichick once again proving his brilliance, as he annihilated a then 2-0 football team with his third string quarterback. Unbeknownst to all until now, that early season matchup accomplished perhaps an even more impressive feat by becoming the only primetime NFL game this year that did not decline in ratings from last year.

It’s gotten REALLY hard for me to care about the Steelers ever since the Rooney Family turned them into a bolt-on appendage of the Democrat Party.

I started to watch the game, but when I turned to the channel the first thing I was hit by was some editorial showing an obama picture. I immediately turned off the game and watched something else the rest of the night.

They simply do not get it.

That’s a good one. Since the comparisons are to last year for this decline no one had mobile last year or suddenly a big switcheroo took place? No they know well and good the reason but cannot admit it publicly so they come up with election being a distraction (never heard that 4 years ago) or this mobile thingy. I suppose a hack of NFL emails might reveal their true thoughts.

It probably got good ratings from the Houston market, where the fans still thought the Texans with the addition of Brock Osweiler would be competitive this year. I did not watch that game, or any other NFL BLM game this year.

I wouldn’t care one way or the other but I want to the league to get the message on what we think of clowns like Colin Kaepernick.

Perhaps Roger Staubach and Tom Landry and Bob Lily and Tony Dorsette were, but that’s long, long, ago.

Agree with all you listed. Also, I get tired of seeing Obama on the sports channels.

I have been a loyal long term fan but will admit that the energy to watch it is just not there. the kapernick thing just tipped it over really; commercials, commercials, flags, flags, its not a game anymore you can enjoy. I think the concussion thing also did some things negative for the game.

Commercial TV in general is unwatchable. That's why I always DVR anything I want to watch, so I can skip over the commercials (which run about 4 minutes worth, comprising about 25-30% of the time slot -- Football would be far worse).

What's the NFL? Former decades long NFL fan,

We haven't watched 1 game, have no intention of watching ANY NFL games including the super toilet bowl with "lady blah blah".

BOYCOTT THE ANTI-AMERICAN, RACIST, PC NFL!

Even with out Brady, the Pats are more interesting than the rest of the No Fun League.

We’ve seen what we can do if we boycott. If Hillary wins, it will be due to the combined efforts of corrupt media and our judicial system, not to mention the strong possibility of voter fraud. At that point in time I will be cancelling my television service and boycotting the movie industry. I will no longer support these individuals whose unreal life experience gives them a platform to address and influence millions who have not yet gained the maturity to make informed decisions.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights were created for a reason. The more we stray from them, the less our chances of survival as a free nation.

Primetime games can be streamed online, so I suspect those games are losing TV audience for that reason.

The Cowboys-Eagles game went up against the Curse Breaking World Series. It never stood a chance.

I don’t know how much it effects ratings but mixing social issues/politics and football is a definite team killer. Just look at the Missouri Tigers. They set the SEC on fire their 2nd and 3rd seasons in the SEC getting to championship games. They lost both years but went on to win bowl games against tough opponents.

But last season the football team was 4-1 and decided to threaten to strike unless the college president resigned over not doing enough to placate the perpetually offended. They only won 1 more game after that. Ended the season 5-7 after an awesome 11-3 finish to 2014. They are currently 0-5 in the SEC and 2-7 overall but their tantrum still goes on.

Admin should have took them up on their threat. Couldn’t be much worse.
