That has been Valerie/Obama/Clintons plan all along, since the deal to appoint Hillary Secretary of State (to get her the hell away from DC ) in return for support for Hillary in 2016.
The Obamas reneged.
Barrack desperately wants control of the Democratic Party, among other grand delusions (Justice of the Supreme Court.) The Obamas were desperate to get someone else loyal to them to run for president, but could find no one to volunteer jumping into the Trump meat grinder.
There's substantially more meat to digest, more to follow...
