This is all well and good....but, have they rounded up a consensus? You need a consensus, or it just isn't science. You are correct. What we have now is a brief warming period during an ice age.

The people working on sun cycles are astrophysicists, not those goobers who play global warming games.
I have heard two helio physicists refer to the current trend as a coming Maunder Minimum and there has been only a disagreement about whether the minimum we are entering will be a Dalton minimum (mild) or a Maunder minimum (severe). The Earth cooling is not an issue, the raw data supports the cooling. No opinions needed, it is what it is.
This is one of the very few articles I have seen on FR involving climate change that I can’t show to be total bs.
Russia may be in the lead on this subject as major cooling could be catastrophic for their crop production. Really bad.
Our own crop season will shorten too with possibly serious water problems, too much water, but we are probably better prepared than most.
Gmo technology as well oil and gas technology will probably be a real blessing. Restarting the coal industry is a national security issue as it will help us a huge amount in the future.

The sun is cooling, and has been for over 20 years, but that will not make an “ice age.” When we cool, precipitation decreases, so there is no significant ice build-up going to happen anywhere but in the polar oceans.
This does fit in with our falling summer temps though.

NO problem. WHEN this happens (and I believe the SUN DOES affect climate) then all WE have to do as humans, according to liberals, is create MORE carbon dioxide. Should be a piece of cake. After all they SAY we’re making the planet warmer.

Before the Himalayas formed (raising carbon dioxide removal via weathering) and South America separated from Antarctica (allowing circum-polar currents to form that trapped cold air around that continent), the world’s average temperature is thought to be 10° to 15°F warmer than today.
When you take Antarctica into account, the world’s average temp is around 50°F.
If we didn’t have that literal cold sink, we’d have no ice at the poles and a much warmer world.
This is why the “OMG, the oceans will rise!” mantra is so tragic-comic - because of our archeologically abnormally low ocean levels.
