A police chase ended with the man getting tased and arrested in the middle of busy Interstate 30.
Garland police say it started with a suspicious person call at Kohl's along the President George Bush Turnpike. One person was arrested inside the store, but a man in a pickup outside drove away and went the wrong way on the PGBT.
A short time later, the driver of the pickup truck pulled off the Interstate 30 and into a Rowlett at Broadway and the driver bailed out and ran onto Interstate 30 westbound. He jumped the median and was tased and fell in the eastbound lanes of I-30 where he was narrowly missed by passing cars.
A Garland police officer was able to stop traffic and officers pull the man back to the service road. Paramedics checked the man out before being transported by police officers.
Rowlett and Garland officers were involved in the initial chase, but Rowlett officers backed off when the man left Rowlett's city limits.
The Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter helped track the suspect.
Troopers and Garland officers worked together to arrest the man.
yikes!!
Helluva taser shot.
Looks like he dropped something when he went down. Any idea what it was?
Shades of post-apocalyptic Garland?
.
That guy was very, very lucky. The decision to taser him at that point was questionable.
I was under the impression that most of Garland counted as “post-apocalyptic”.
