How about a little sanity break from the politics and mayhem?

Nice shot. What you have there is a tricolored heron.

This is an anhinga.

Gorgeous as usual!

Love the blue jay. They gulp the peanuts we leave on the tray feeder, which always makes for a good show right outside the window.

Got a couple of good pockets in the rock ledge that hold water. When it’s bath time those jays are like excited little kids. Splish splash, water flying everywhere. It is something I look forward to every day. Never a dull moment. I have no clue about cameras though, so I retain the memories the best I can.

God thinks of everything - He even provides His own comedians.

The jays do that in the bird bath further back in our yard. That’s after they fight the other birds at the feeder.

I have been seeing “American Goldfinches” by the dozens around my new home.

Also a large flock of wild turkeys that strut around like they own the place! LOL!

Watched some baby birds in a nest in the bank’s drive thru sign today. Hungry little things.

Ours have been well-behaved at the feeders. The only cranks are a couple of doves that spar with each other. Symbols of peace, until they aren’t. :)

Now I know where most of our goldfinches went. :)

Funny you mentioned turkeys. We have different groups that make their rounds. Today one of the families discovered the peanuts in the tray on the deck railing.

What a sight. Four huge turkeys perched (more like teetering) on the deck rail right outside the window, taking turns standing on the tray, all eager to gobble up the peanuts. Looking right at me while having balance issues. I couldn’t stop laughing, bless their hearts.

Thanks! I needed this.

Had to do a bird survey today in the salt desert of the Great Basin. I wish you could post a pic of a Horned Lark, cause I saw nearly a hundred today. (And a handful of ravens.)

OK, and two loggerhead shrikes and one sagebrush sparrow.

But it's still better than watching the MSM attempt to destroy Trump. I'm pissed at the world right now...

Hey, Jaz! Are you on Islander7's bird ping list?

I know you're becoming more of a birder, so I think you'd enjoy his occasional postings.

Check it out!

I love mourning doves. They are so sweet. We have about ten pair who are regular customers.

One pair who come, [for years now], have a *third* wheel; another single dove. I think he may be an offspring, b/c he comes with the M-F. Well, the male of the pair spends the whole time trying to chase him off. Funny stuff.

It’s like kicking your kid out of the basement. *HEY! Go find your own digs!*
