He’s worried and anxious enough about carjackers to take out the gun, but then he’s nodding off to sleep? If you were that worried about carjackers and people walking up to your car, wouldn’t you be extremely alert and your adrenaline spiking?
The story is evolving as questions arise. There will be a reason why he was just so darned sleepy, count on it.
