Mighty convenient he just happened to have hired a driver so has a witness it was just an “accident”.

Initially, the way this story was reported, it sounded like a shooting from the street to the car. The first AJC "breaking news" reporter (to her credit...which I never give to this leftist rag...) told me the initial non-story was written based on the police report, which left nothing but questions to be answered. Considering someone was dead, it appeared very shoddy and suspect on the part of the APD.
With more information coming in dribs and drabs, there are still more questions than answers. At best, this very well-connected lawyer should face charges of reckless endangerment...at best.

I think the investigators will get to the bottom of the story if this wasn’t an accident. Another story said that the husband had been aware of some BLM protests during the weekend (nothing was said about any Sunday night BLM activities), so the husband was either too jittery about possible mob violence, or he wasn’t jittery and is hiding a premeditated shooting behind a false concern about carjackers.

Who hasnt been shot in the back by a lawyer? Me. But I have been stabbed twice.
I got divorced twice and then I realized marriage wasn't for me.
Funny thing. I've had more than enough money ever since.

My bad...I did not see that the original posting was based on the updated AJC story.
Still...”bump in the road”...?

There was another incident of the Police Chief shooting his wife in the back in the Atlanta metro community of Peachtree City just a few years ago. Slap on the wrist. Wife survived.

If you cannot believe lawyers, who can you believe?
If the guy was a ghetto crawler, would you believe him? If he gets off, is it “white privilege?” Or better yet, “class privilege?”

More accurate headline? This may all come down to a horrendous death as a result of reckless endangerment. What pegs the BS Meter straight to BOGUS is that every time the APD drips out another nugget of detail, another spin story appears from the attorney-husband.
Now the radio news report has him self-diagnosing being in PTSD as a result of his poor weapon handling, according to a family spokesperson.

What pegs the BS Meter straight to BOGUS is that every time the APD drips out another nugget of detail, another spin story appears from the attorney-husband. My BS meter pegs out every time a spouse is shot "while I was just cleaning my gun". This shooting is in the same category of events, where it might true, maybe, but there is a far more plausible alternative explanation for a man shooting his wife in the back. The evolution of the excuse just adds to that impression. Perhaps he's innocent, and having seen very little of the evidence I certainly have some doubt. However, it would take a whole lot to raise that sliver of doubt to the level of "reasonable doubt".

Strange incident. Yes, normally lawyers stab you in the back, not shoot you.

From the updated article:
McIver does not remember firing the gun. When lawyers start to get poor recollection, there's usually a reason.
