NY Mag’s The Cut is the absolute cutting edge in hand-wringing cultural criticism, as made evident by their latest video, “Lawrence of Arabia Is a Prime Example of Old Hollywood Sexism” — video so poignant they took down from their site after a few hours following a brutal storm of online mockery.

“We all know Hollywood (both old and new) is sexist, but this fact about the 1962 hit Lawrence of Arabia will blow your mind,” the text below the video reads. “And probably make you never want to watch the movie.”

Bridge Over The River Kwai -— Ann Sears played a nurse.
Stalag 17 -— Svetlana Mcle played a Russian prisoner.
The Great Escape appears to be male only.

"Were there any women in Bridge Over The River Kwai?"

Holden's character is seen leaving a military nurses quarters I believe, after having been with her on a beach.

Also, the commando team used native women to carry their supplies all the way to the Bridge.

Those were the good old days. The stories were so well told that you’d forget you were watching a movie.

Now days the men would spend half the time hugging each other instead of shaking hands.

I think Lawrence of Arabia is really a study of delusions of grandeur .. and while there were sexual implications .. they were never the focus of the movie.

When reality finally hit Laurence that his delusions were not real, he killed himself because he could not face reality.

The movie is still an interesting story.

” I guess we have it coming...”

With that kind of thinking I guess we do.
