"Hot Rod Lincoln" is the sequel to "Hot Rod Race."

Hot Rod Lincoln--Charlie Ryan (1955)

Hot Rod Race (California version)--Ramblin' Jimmy Dolan (1951)

Hot Rod Race (Hawaii version)--Tiny Hill (1951)

That was just one high school rumor back in 1972. (Especially considering that the guitar work on this song sounds a lot like Harrison could be playing)

The other rumor was that the song was about a girl that the singer had got pregnant and then abandoned.

Loved that show and will always associate this song to that final scene.

It was actually Beatles road manager Mal Evans who pushed to sign Badfinger (under their original name The Iveys), and McCartney had more to do with them becoming big than Harrison, as he wrote and produced their first hit “Come and Get It.”

Can’t get that final 15 minutes of “Filena” out of my head! This tune was tailor made for it.

My first love with girl named Dixie, the song was perfect for the time.

When I heard it in “Breaking Bad” it seemed perfect.

Absolutely perfect song.

The only long lasting series that was a real story with legit beginning, middle, and end, not just a pitch that is kept alive for years for the bucks.
