The Walls Are Closing In On Hillary Clinton

She’s in trouble, people.

First, let’s look at some recent top line data:

Trump has a three-point advantage over Clinton among likely voters in the Silver State (43–40 percent). Libertarian Gary Johnson receives eight percent. Nevada voters also can cast a ballot for “none of these,” and that option takes four percent. Green Party candidate Jill Stein is not on the ballot in Nevada.

In North Carolina, Trump is up by five points among likely voters. He receives 45 percent to Clinton’s 40 percent, and 6 percent favor Johnson. Stein is not on the ballot.

The Buckeye State is another must-win for Trump, and the poll finds him up by five points among likely voters: 42–37 percent. Johnson receives six percent and Stein gets two percent.

While I am aware that the general election is a very different beast than the primaries, I can’t help but feel that conditions are very similar to what was happening at the end of the Republican primaries when voters suddenly broke decisively for Trump. Recall that Cruz had been looking very strong after Wisconsin, and both Cruz and his supporters seemed to think a strong showing in New York might be possible.

And then after he made the mistake of publicly celebrating his “voterless victory” in Colorado, everything suddenly changed. His poll numbers crashed and he began losing critical primaries to Trump, with more and more polls and events going Trump’s way culminating in Trump’s win in Indiana. The reason I bring Cruz up is that I feel events are developing in a very similar way to the manner in which the Republican primary ended.

After weeks of calling Trump supporters conspiracy theorists for asking questions about her health, she collapsed on September 11th, alarming both her supporters and the American public. While the data in this article is a bit old, by the time her collapse happened, her favorable ratings had already fallen through the floor:

Even after becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee, Clinton has seen little improvement in her standing among Democrats and Democratic leaners. According to Gallup, Clinton’s favorable rating among those groups was 68 percent on the day of the California primary (June 7). Today, it stands at 70 percent. In other words, nearly a third of Democrats don’t hold a favorable view of her. At this point in the 2008 campaign, only 14 percent of Democrats didn’t hold a favorable view of Barack Obama, according to Gallup — 84 percent did. Even if most Democrats prefer Clinton to Trump, a sizable portion of them do so at this point without liking her.

I believe the collapse proved to be Hillary’s Colorado moment, which caused voters to make some decisions and switch to supporting Trump. Again, also similar to Indiana, the Clinton campaign seems to have begun lurching from disaster to disaster. She never showed up in Louisiana:

Three days after the devastation occurred, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and running mate Mike Pence toured and area and handed out supplies. President Obama — rightly criticized both for not interrupting his Martha’s Vineyard vacation to visit, but more importantly, not even making one statement on the matter while away — went to Louisiana five days after Trump and Pence.

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has promised she will only visit the area “at a time when the presence of a political campaign will not disrupt the response.” Most media collectively nodded it’s head in agreement with Clinton’s perspective and have moved on since the waters receded.

So here we are, nearly three weeks after the fact. Her opponent and her former boss have each gone to the state, both reportedly not hampering recovery efforts in any capacity. If Clinton went now all this time later, it’s doubtful she would be getting in the way of anything.

While the national media has moved on, The Advocate — Louisiana’s largest newspaper — directly challenged Clinton four days ago in an op-ed.

She blew it at the Candidate Forum...[snip]

Suddenly, Lauer is garbage, no better—in the eyes of the mainstream media—than some basement-dwelling right-wing blogger.

His sin? He allowed Trump to speak during the candidate forum, and didn’t press the Republican presidential nominee on his answers to the liking of the liberal media. This morning, I detailed the extent of the hate being spewed against Lauer by his colleagues in the mainstream media.

And it’s not letting up. The New York Times editorial board wrote on Friday that moderators should do more than ask questions and let candidates answer—they should engage in rigorous (probably NYT–approved) fact checking.

It seems obvious they’re all just upset that Trump hasn’t said or done anything to take the heat off of Clinton’s two weeks of bad news coverage. Previously, whenever bad news broke for Clinton, Trump was there to say or do something outrageous that would suck up attention and allow Clinton to skate scrutiny. That has changed since Kellyanne Conway became campaign manager, Steve Bannon of Breitbart News became campaign CEO, and Jamestown Associates (full disclosure: a group I am collaborating with on a documentary) took over communications.

They launched an attack on a cartoon frog:

In an attempt to horrify potential Clinton supporters, Elizabeth Chan, one of Clinton’s senior strategists wrote, that Pepe the Frog is a “symbol associated with white supremacy.”

“Wait. Really? White supremacy?,” the post continues before explaining that “Pepe is a cartoon frog who began his internet life as an innocent meme enjoyed by teenagers and pop stars alike.”

“But in recent months, Pepe’s been almost entirely co-opted by the white supremacists who call themselves the ‘alt-right.’ They’ve decided to take back Pepe by adding swastikas and other symbols of anti-semitism and white supremacy,” it continues.

The post then uses this as an attempt to attack Trump, who retweeted a mocked up image of himself as Pepe the Frog in October last year.

This is not a well-running campaign. This is the sign of a rudderless and confused campaign flailing around helplessly, sensing the moment is slipping away from them, and unsure of how to stop the bleeding. Instead, they’re making gaffe after gaffe, and there’s no sign that they know how to respond to Trump creeping up on Hillary in the polls. That they’ve gone back to the tactics of inciting violent riots like the ones in Charlotte is a sign of how much trouble they are in, as they already had to abandon this tactic when it was causing Trump’s poll numbers to go up immediately prior to the convention. ...[snip]

Where does Hillary go from here? I think it’s all downhill.

Well, Michael Moore says that it’s over for Hillary, then we must be at least on the 50 yard line.

But yes, we need to buckle down and be vigilant too.

Great image but I think if Trump wins the news will appear below the fold and the word “landslide” will not be used- even if it’s a 60/35 blowout with 42 states for Trump.

“And I hope against hope, in my old, gray, battered, Conservatarian cynical heart, that you are right!

Me too. I wonder if Hillary has some new dirt to throw at Trump.

I also think that Hillary has rehearsed standing at a podium for 90 minutes and there’s not a chance that she’ll fold.

Once on news organization uses the word landslide they will all jump in. It’s a ratings game.

I’m not worried about dirt on Trump. He’s been in the public eye for decades, now. We’ve ALL witnessed his ups and downs along the way.

The Enemy Media has thrown EVERYTHING they could manufacture at him - and nothing has stuck!

His children (from various wives) ADORE him and all seem to get along well as step-kids and even his EX-WIVES like him...and really WHO in this day can claim THAT? I mean, even Marla Maples is keepin’ her well-kept mouth SHUT if she has any beef against him.

Hopeful. Prayerful. We CANNOT let that beotch win!

The headlines will look nothing like that. The NYT would bury Trump victory on page 32.

Although a headline could still appear regarding The Rising Tide of Racism, Sexism, Homophobia and Islamophobia in America - How Deplorable!

Remember—the Supreme Court was supposed to kill Obamacare.

Roberts needed the money. Trump doesn't

I've seen quite a few Hillary signs around.

But they all say, "Hillary For Prison".

“Remember—the Supreme Court was supposed to kill Obamacare.”

Another thing Trump can do to stop this kind of stuff - if people ARE being blackmailed/blacklisted by the Left, they can COME TO HIM and he will have it investigated.

That way the Left and their Mafioso ways could be stopped in their tracks.

John Roberts: “Mr. President Trump? 0bama Goons THREATENED that my CHILDREN would be taken away from me unless I voted FOR 0bamacare.”

See how simple it could all be?

(Dreaming. I know!)
