Why does Glenn Beck hate Trump so much?

Does anyone here understand Beck's intense hatred for Trump? I mean he seems to have more in common in values with Beck than Hilary (pro-gun, pro-life, constitutionial justices.) So what rationale does he give for his hatred towards the man while he has the "oh whatever" attitude towards Hillary? Anyone know?

I think it’s purely a survival/ego mode thing. His Blaze network has been doing very poorly for the last several years, he needed something to elevate his status.

Beck wanted to be the kingmaker in the party. He wanted the power that a Rush Limbaugh holds.

So, he backed an early “favorite” and pushed - hard. He so wanted Cruz to win because then he could point and say “see, from the very beginning, I made this man! I was the first behind him, I pushed him, I supported him!”

But - Cruz lost. And Beck cannot change his position - because then he will never get a chance to try for “kingmaker” again. He’ll be forever known as a follow-on, someone who just sides with the majority even if they lose. Not a leader, a follower.

It’s ego, it’s trying to hold together the crumbling parts of his media “empire”, and now it’s bitterness that he chose - poorly.

Yes there is. You may not like his reasons, but there is one.

He was totally invested in Cruz believing him to be a true Christian conservative with a love of the Constitution. His brand of Christianity is about as looney as Beck's. To make matters worse he believes Trump is a modern version of Hitler, I mean really believes that.

So, on Ted's first run he loses. If you are a true believer, you would say, okay God's timing wasn't now.

I know why.

Back in the very early days of the campaign, Beck was going to have Trump on his show. Trump being very smart, knowing that Glenn just wanted to trash him, and was never going on his show.

Trump’s people told Beck’s people that Glenn had to speak with Trump directly, not with Beck’s “people” talking to Trumps “people”.

Glenn was pissed because he said he NEVER does this for anyone else. He finally decided he would comply and tried to schedule with Trump’s staff a time when he and Donald could talk about Trump coming on his show.

After several attempts by Glenn himself trying to make connections with Trump, Beck finally caught on that he got punked by Trump.

Glenn had emasculated himself to Trump to get him on his show and Trump gave him the stiff arm, after leading Glenn on into thinking that he would actually do the show.

This ENRAGED Glenn Beck. Whatever disdain Glenn had for Trump before, now he HATED him, REVILED him.

Glenn will NEVER get over this.

By the way, Cruz was just Glenn Beck’s “foil” to get back at Trump. He didn’t care about getting Cruz elected president. He just wanted to stick it to Trump.

He STILL wants to stick it to Trump. Even if it costs Beck his media empire.

I think he spent a lot of time and money on Cruz. He was quite obsessed with it all. He’s not mentally stable, IMO.
