Scary Clowns showing up on the side of the road are no joke, according to deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff's Department. There have been several complaints about people dressed up as clowns and armed with various weapons. The most recent incident happened in Mt. Hope on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016. Investigators said the intent of these "scary clowns" is to frighten as many people as possible.
"Many people have a phobia about clowns, and meeting an armed "clown" in a dark, unlit area can definitely be cause for an individual to fear for his or her safety," said Sheriff Steve Kessler. "Many of our citizens carry concealed handguns and if one of these "clowns" frightens an armed individual the results could be tragic."

Clowns have been seen in the Carolinas and Georgia trying to get kids to go into the woods, now this. The other day a little girl was arrest because she brought a knife to school. Her reason? She was afraid of the clowns! This is real FReepers.
A few dead clowns would solve the problem. When I hear ‘clowns’ I think of mass murderer John Wayne Gacy. If I saw an armed clown, I’d take the necessary steps to protect myself and others.

Same here. Don’t know what started this craze but this won’t end well. I know the kids are scared. Parents are on alert in some places.
It was kinda funny when it was an unarmed clown. Or one holding balloons on the side of the road. But the whole axe/machete nonsense ain’t cool. That’s just dumb.
If I was on a jury for someone who shot one of those morons who dress in Islamic garb, throw down a package/backpack, and run for the “funny” video of people panicking, I’d vote not guilty. The same for anyone who shoots the morons who dress as clowns to scare people. Frightening normal people is a malicious act of bullying, and I am not amused. A reasonable person could see that as an immediate danger to their own life or the life of another.

When these ‘clowns’ start getting shot, the so called fun will quickly dissolve. Probably a few unemployed, unchurched, friendless, males ( with no current girlfriend) , poor credit risks, driving a very old car they don’t fully own. They’ve already gotten bored playing Pokemon Go (alone again, naturally). People who feel otherwise neutered and/or invisible. Find another hobby now, before it’s too late.

It will end of it’s own accord after a few of these “pranksters” get shot and the jury votes them a medal of commendation for cleaning up the city.
