HAGERSTOWN, Md. - A Maryland police chief is defending the actions taken by his officers following an incident where a 15-year-old girl was pepper sprayed by police, but the girl and her family tell a different story about what happened. Body camera video released by the Hagerstown Police Department shows the incident, which happened after the girl's bicycle allegedly hit a car.
The girl faces charges of disorderly conduct, second-degree assault, possession of marijuana and failure to obey a traffic device. The incident has prompted disagreement about whether the officers acted properly. Footage from two different officers' body cameras was released late Wednesday. The video, which is over 14 minutes long in total,

The girl’s parents and her lawyer have to be bitterly disappointed that the complete interaction with police was captured on body cams proving that the cops were justified in ALL their actions. There will be no money pot waiting for the lawyer and family to scarf up.

What struck me was that everyone, the cops, the driver who got hit, everyone was concerned with the girl’s welfare. She was acting the fool, which kids do sometimes, and everyone there just ingorned that, and acted like responsible adults.
But it all becomes clear when the parents think they’ve hit the lottery, and sue, insteand of apologizing for the appaling behavior of their child and hitting the door in utter mortifaction.
He ~may~ be telling the truth.
But then the practice of Patent Law can be dreadfully dull.

See? Everyone is raising hades about having body cameras and when the police do, its still fodder for big mouth attorneys who smell a big payday, if only from books and guest appearances.
It is also violence porn for people who have a penchant for such and for those who wish to spend their time second guessing the police as a poor hobby.
