I always shake my head at the whole “continuity of government” concept. If they screwed up so bad they got us nuked.... why would I want THAT government to survive?

Yes, he was completely over the top. Too bad because everybody else was good, although I’m confused about who the FBI lady is and who she can’t reach on the phone.

The Capitol building goes up in flames during the State of the Union address, pretty much wiping out every member of the House and Senate, the President and Vice President, Supreme Court, etc.
The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, played by Keifer Sutherland, is sworn in as president.

In the 60s, Irving Wallace wrote a great book — THE MAN. As I recall, a building collapsed in Frankfort, Germany and the prez and VP were killed. Speaker of the House becomes prez and he happens to be black. He was put in as Speaker to pacify black groups. And then there is an effort to impeach him. A great novel.

The two shows I’ve been looking forward to was Bull and Designated Survivor. Bull was a homo-promo from the first episode. Hopefully they don’t ruin DS too soon.
