Matt Drudge has attended TWO big Freeper functions IN PERSON over the years.

He linked to us at an early point and maybe 1/3 of freeps found FR via Drudge.

It’s sorta a big deal cuz you can make the argument that us picking up his headlines and posting links to the same stories HE originally linked to has the effect of lessening his click-throughs (yes, there IS lots of cross-pollination, so it goes both ways).

I’m not complaining or lobbying, I’m just saying be nice to him cuz he loved us and still loves us.

I don’t know why, but there are a number of otherwise good conservative websites that are just very user unfriendly. Another one is Breitbart.

I would like to visit Breibart but stay away for those reasons.

I don’t listen to Rush much, these days, but when I do, he just goes down the headlines/posts from Drudge and FR.

For all his “show prep” talk, he uses the web for his show prep.

If you have Malware Bytes, run it.
You have PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) and possibly a virus on your HD.
That one’s called RansomWare, and it’s more than just in the cache or in a cookie.

That happened to me yesterday. I closed down my browser (Chrome) with the task manager. No problems since.

Chrome still won’t put Drudgreport in the initial screen where it displays recently visited sites. It does display freerepublic.

Sorry, that’s NOT RansomWare, unless they demand a CC to do any ‘work’, install their remote app on your HD, and return ‘control’ to you.

Run Task Manager concurrently with your browser. When your browser slows down or popups start running, switch to the Task Manager and delete or end task for the Flash Player (huge mb counts) or the specific separate task.

Quit looking at Drudge a few years ago when they started that annoying “auto-refresh” every half minute or so. NoScript shows them running dozens of external scripts as well...best avoided, no loss.

Anyone who has trouble loading Drudge I’ll tell you a trick —

I ‘search’ for “Drudge Report” on Google, enter the ‘cache’ option, and select “text only”.

The cache is sometimes six hours old, but it’s a fast load.

I’m amazed at how often even six-hour old Drudge pages often get news out faster than this forum.

His packed news presentation helps me get up to speed in a hurry.

Every FReeper should have 4 (free for home use) utilities.

1) Avast Anti-virus
2)MalwareBytes
3)CCleaner
4)AdBlocker Plus

GET THEM NOW and scan/cleanup your system!

I never take browser advice from a guy who can't write HTML, smile. --- re your tagline

That was good advice on XP, not so much for Win 7, and not at all on Win 10.
