“Texas is best :) and no state income tax”

but i’ve heard the property taxes are sky high to make up for the lost revenue from no state tax?

Not sure when you were here, but in Alberta 49% of the jobs now are government and 41% private sector.

We are being bled dry. We are still supporting the rest of Canada as if oil was still $100 bucks a barrel. We are going into extreme debt to make sure Ontario and Quebec etc have their money.

We’re being raped.

I heard AZ was pretty decent in some places. It’s nice that unions are weak. I have never worked under a union and I don’t want to start now.

When I say self employed, I actually mean I contract to existing companies. I don’t open my own office or have my own employees normally.

Heh, I can’t see myself liking humidity too much. I have been hot, but places such as Jamaica kill me.

There are some inside electrical jobs, but most of them involve both inside and outdoor work.

I have a cousin who left the USA for Canada. Already vested in SS and now a Canadian getting vested in that SS.
Drives for gas to the USA.
Gay, don’t know if that would have been a reason to go north 15 years ago?
I’ve been to Greece, everyone is following the Greece economic model.

Yeah, being outside here in the summer would be better than being in someone’s attic.

I am waiting for a plumber right now but it isn't too hot here yet. He will be working in my attic.

We charged our daughter monthly rent for food and space. Then when they moved out we gave them back what we had collected. Everyone was happy. Fifteen years later, our youngest lives four doors away.

That’s nice! Once our son starts his full-time job, he’ll get a firm deadline to move out ... after which we’ll charge him rent if he still lives here.

I was married at his age!

What do you folks know about PA and the carry laws etc?

It looks like that’s where they want me to go.

Apparently my jman certificate wouldn’t be recognized in Texas even though Alberta trades program is second to none in the world, and in high demand all over.

So, company wants me send me there and local manager would want me there permanently at some point.

I need some input please on that area. I think it’s northern area close to NY border.
